I liked the barrow too. :)

This wouldn't involve a certain species of flowering plant that you've been road-testing, would it? :D

Alfie that sounds like a heavenly wedding :D Lovely to hear that CTCs blankets have been included!

CTC Great to hear that you are planning even more diverse ways of generating money for the ranch. As long as you have the time and space diversification means if one area takes a dip you should have income streams from other projects which is ideal in this economic climate ;)

My front garden finally looks almost presentable. I think I am going to remove the remaining plants and give it over to grass as nothing thrives in that soil. As long as it is neat and presentable.

Alfie, when is the wedding?? is it this weekend??

Just to let you know there is a vast difference in poor boglet, still not out of the woods, BUT she has just got up herself ( with a little prompting and help) and walked over to the food troof( put a small one inside their shelter) and then drunk some water all by her self.

Up until now she has just been lying down on her side, with us giving her water and Lectade plus ( from the vet it is a rapid rehydration powder you add to water, it is mainly used for scouring calves to put the minerals back into them) all done with a very small suringe ( were going to get the one you can buy in supermarkets for humans, but this one is a lot stronger)

still very weak... but baby steps...

I am joining Davesnave with the hunch back lol... crawling into their shelter, and then lying down in there...

I id get some funny looks afterwards when I walked into Teco and the Chemist lol.... aahhhhh the smells of the country folk lol...

Good news about Boglet, even if she has some way to go yet. :T

Last week I decided that I couldn't be bothered to change in the back of the van after doing a tip run, so I just went into Sainsbury's dressed in my 'work' clothes. To be honest, I was in a bit of a state after unloading half the bitumen sheeting from the garage roof. :o

But then, thinking about it, it's impossible to tell who's who. Some of the most well-heeled folk in the area look like total ragamuffins. Whether you have designer boots and breeks, or something from the bargain rail in Moleavon, by the time they're all caked in mud, it makes little difference.

Mud is a great leveller. :)

P.S. Van passed its MOT. :j:j:j

Hmmmm I feel restless and dissatisfied :( I walked home today from the centre of town and it really hit home how little I want to live in a city now. As cities go I couldn't ask for more however I want to be out in the country or in a small village surrounded by fields and fresh air.

However my OH does not want to move at all. Plus we would be leaving family behind and then there would be all the financial implications and jobs etc……. But I want a different life now.

Glad piglets on the up - anti-biotics can be handy to have to hand at times especially if you are a bit out in the sticks.

Lovely barrows of flowers Alfie. Got some white butterfly lavendar for £2 @ big pot out of Morrissons - It's gorgeous.

Rummer sometimes I do feel isolated & yearn for being nearer civilisation especially as there's no shop or owt here to just grab a chat with folks. I miss Kultcha...need a bit of kultcha now & again.

:( is there a compramise to be had ? perhaps an area near a big park for instance ? if you draw a circle on a map of central where your OH works and where you live as perimeter. then look inside your circle... BUT also remember you have kids that need doctor/schools etc also transport.. sometimes it pays to look and then maybe realise its not so bad where you are ;):D things have a way of turning around. :)

    That.

Its not inane chats at shops I miss, but being near chums for raucous late into the night dinner parties where half the people stay over afterwards. If we had spare rooms and no res parent this would be possible. It is happening later this month....DH is playing a gig with some friends in the village and they are staying over.

Its deciding that night to get cheap tickets to so etching, not having to plan it in advance cos the local venues are few and book up in advance.

We actually have an excellent music venue locally, and lots of other music venues that are good, and decent poetry access, but other things can feel bleak. Arts trail is good too, really, I just haven't got out to it. Gues its theatre I miss and easy access to good dialogue.
