the thing is Davesnave, once you have had a van, you will be totally lost without one.. you don't realise how handy they are until they are gone...

I much prefer a van to a car... especially our transit...and yes its white lol

CTC - I also have rogosa rose which is incredibly prickly - you wouldn't climb through that. I just snuck a couple of runners from the side of the road - so free & easy to establish. The birds love the big fat hips when the appear.

I second rosa rugosa as a deterrent hedge. Horse woman has it around her manege. It's dirt cheap, but it can 'travel' a bit, as she's finding.....:(

Hope the vet sorts out the boglets, CTC.

I would prefer another Transit, but the Merc is so good mechanically, I couldn't contemplate it yet. 48k, and you could eat your dinner off the exhaust manifold, it's all so clean. :D

    Unlike the outside.....:o:o:o

Thing is, it's German, and they have ways of keeping you alert at the wheel, like seats that aren't anywhere close to comfortable after 100 miles. I could drive 400miles in the old Trannie and still stand up straight afterwards. 200 in this one, and I emerge like Quasimodo! :rotfl:

14 year old ones actually! Still haven't unpacked some things that were packed when we 1st moved up to the Highlands in 2000.

I think we can beat that! Last time we went to old home OH started bringing boxes down from the loft that were packed for storage before we rented for about 16 weeks while subsidence treated. When we got home a lot of the boxes went straight up into the loft and didn't get unpacked. Hmm, trying to remember when it was... Must have been when DD2 was in second year primary, so that would make it 1985 I think! So they've been in loft for 29 years!   We just peeked in a couple to find a my little pony castle, and several ponies, think for the bin now, but the Sylvanian Family house and bakery and family are fine, so the GrandTwins will have them. Still a few more boxes to come down, but loft nearly empty now.

I bet you'd get something for the my little ponies on ebay. People love them. If not charity shop, let some little girl enjoy them for pennies....

I really do think they're past it. Suspect the heat in the loft in summer has been the problem. The pink castle seems to have turned orange, and the ponies have blotchy colour changes too. Don't worry, if they are in any way salvageable they will be going to charity shop... If I can find one to take them - round here none of them take toys. Maybe Scout jumble sale come autumn when they start up again.

    Nooooooooo!! eBay, eBay!!!:D

EDIT: I see lir beat me to it. :o

That's what DD1 did with hers....and she made a packet on the Sylvanians, 'cos all were mint. There are collectors out there. ;)

Lir, I don't think anyone actually rides in the manege these days. Main horse is too old and frail and companion horse may not even be fit for it either. Come to think of it, I have my doubts about Horse Woman too!

The roses were put there to disguise the place. Naturally, certain people objected to stables etc here in the countryside. :rotfl:

OK, so why have I a huge, truly incredible crop of wild hazelnuts growing down by the stream and not a single one up here in the garden on the Kent cobs? I am not going to see any of the wild nuts because the squirrels will have the lot!

Our MOT this time was horrendous so I hope yours is ok Dave, we needed to spend just under £600 which was not expected and was crushing :(

I have just harvested the Aquilegia seeds that I have been meaning to collect for years :D It appeared from nowhere one day and is a gorgeous cotton candy pink so I have enough seeds to get a few plants for next year and some to spare :D There is also a lovely pale lemon one with pink tinges around the edge of the flowers but I didn't manage to get seeds from it :(
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
