I think our weather is somewhere between Rummer's & alfie's. Warm, but grey & looking like rain.

I've felt ill for the last few days with a sore throat, headache & sneezing. I'm actually wondering now if it's hayfever & have bought some antihistamines from Ald1 to try.

I am so desperate to move away from here as the pollution is quite bad & I don't think that helps when you're feeling wheezy anyway. DH has got a longer term temporary job in Scotland, but it's too complicated here for me to move up there with him, so I'm feeling a bit trapped & fed up at the moment.

We have some lovely poppies in flower at the moment & a wild rose that I think Lir would appreciate :) It's growing through what I think is an Escalonia & the pale pink flowers on both of them look lovely together. Unfortunately my DD has pinched the camera so I can't take any pics to show you!! :rotfl:

    I'd like the poppies too.

I ran amok with a bag of poppy seeds from the supermarket earlier in the year and......nothing. Not one.

I think the little lawn chooks have probably found them all.

They ate all the basil as it sprouted too.

You have my sympathy, I planted loads of things from seed this year and hardly anything has sprouted.

The paint I posted before was too dark on the wall however this one is gorgeous and I think it is the one we will go for in the bedroom :D

Now onto the hall which is an ongoing drama! 5 years, 5 different colours and still not one we both like! I have all the brochures to sift through and then the samples will be gathered!

    Annoying post gobbling Mse.

I am wary of light colours in dingy spaces. Its what we tried here. Instead it looks grubby and depressing.

With the wood and gold and knowing you are brave with colour I'm going to suggest a bold yellow.

The yellow will be bright, not dingy, but not as gloomy as a darker colour.

I tried to google image for examples and then Mse ate my post so I only have one poor example with blue in the mix.http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cNPZSdRgDRE/TmDCq9zoI8I/AAAAAAAAXUQ/8vlzL9apOHs/s640/Blue+and+yellow.jpeg

A very tiring day, spent mainly up a ladder, dismantling the utility room roof and many of the other bits in tin and perspex that the previous owners attached to it. Quite a lot of it was no longer connected securely to the ground, so done in the nick of time, methinks. :D

We shall be exposed to the change of weather in there for a week or so, but tomorrow we move the washing machine, tumble drier and a few other things, so no worries. Meanwhile the garage is covered with the under-tile membrane, so we're dry in there, which is more important.

Our friend/builder has done a first class job. No roof trusses for him; it's all done the traditional way. :D He doesn't skimp either. Tr*/v%s P*rk&ns sent the cheap membrane (though billed us for the expensive one!) and he drove there first thing this morning to swap it rather than make do. :A

Not quiet enough for me! I'm watching this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toro-22293-Commercial-21-Lawn-Mower-Immaculate-1-Month-old-/111388311123?pt=UK_Garden_Lawnmowers&hash=item19ef42be53

but it's already beginning to look pricey for this stage in the game. :(

To be honest, it's much posher than I need, but I need one about that size! :o

thought i recognised that mower.. iv just looked and thats the one ive been lent to mow my lawns !! a toro recycler ?? it certainly chomps the grass but doesnt like mowing without the box on ... it doesnt fly out the back as flap cant be fixed up. and the box makes it hard work on longer grass. BUT theres probably a way round this ive not discovered !!:D :rotfl: have good day y'all
