Oh painting people I need some advice :D

I am looking for a colour for the hall and I am stuck. Currently it is a deep red which goes well with the dark wood coat stand and gold mirror. However the hall is very dark and I feel like something lightish and warm to make the most of the little light it gets.

While I am it I would also like a new colour for the bedroom. It is a room that gets a lot of light so could be anything really!

    All suggestions gratefully received :D

well...... remember that it will need a good undercoat to cover the red !! if you want to go lighter and the walls are dark and not HUGE walls its sometimes easier/quicker to put lining paper up.. if thats impractable, ive always put a paleish grey undercoat to tone down a dark color then a whiteish/paler undercoat then your top coat ..... or wallpaper ;):D :rotfl:

I would go buttermilk for the hall, I think it would go well with the dark wood & gold. Buttermilk for the bedroom as well. I love buttermilk if you hadn't noticed!! :rotfl:

We used this in DD2's north facing bedroom:
    http://www.dulux.co.uk/products/light--plus-space-matt/?gclid=CNu7qIj_kL8CFdOhtAod_iUA7Q

It worked too, but I'm not sure if the colour we used is still available.:)

8am and the temperature's already over 20c!

We'll get the felt on the garage today, so that's going to be waterproof-ish, as we move on to the utility room that will become a den, second office, or whatever. We have to find a home for the washing machine, so either into the conservatory, or pull the unused bath out and plumb in there. :)

Around us, things have been pretty busy. All the haylage is made, and the Horse Woman has badgered Pete so much he's made her hay. That'll be expensive! Half an acre, cut, turned and baled individually! :rotfl:

And, "Tis not so good, neither. Er' wud hev bin better hangin' on fer two more weeks." was Pete's verdict. That's what he's doing here. Hay and haylage are different. ;)

I love the smell of haylage :D

Pouring with rain here today :( although on the upside the garden really needed a good drenching so hopefully it will start to perk up a bit!

I hardly slept last night as my mind was racing with plans and ideas for the bedroom and hall :rotfl: My poor OH was swept up in the enthusiasm and has graciously agreed to all my plans and we are currently negotiating on colours. In our home he is the one with good taste and vision and I just have enthusiasm :rotfl:

Thank you for the colour suggestions :D I am undecided about the hall as it has already been lots of different colours since we moved here due to my indecision :o As for the bedroom however we are pretty much decided on something similar to this: https://www.dulux.co.uk/colours/blue/#lost_lake Scroll down it is the background colour Lost Lake :)

another scorcher here !! and miracles do happen...im wearing shorts !! yep the "lily whites" are showing themselves and hoping for an element of coloration resembling a TAN .... i go brown really quickly but legs are a bit neglected due to shock factor of wibbly wobbly knees emerging infrequently from jeans :o :rotfl: now is when i appreciate the finer things in life ie. grass not mud, sun in windows, patio doors !! its made me realise that whilst i loved my last house ,i wasnt loving the "life". now im loving MY life :D have a good day peeps :D
