Rummer, I cant visualise that you have said:cool:, BUT don't be in too much of a rush to do a nursery.

M little trikelets, stayed in our room ( well youngest) until he was about 4 years old, he hated being on his own.

Once little rumlet is born, and settles in, you might have a better idea of what plans you want to make re- a bed room for them.

I think the main thing is now, as you have mentioned before, is getting finances and prep your food cupboards etc.

Especially your non-bio washing powder, keep an eye out for when it is on offer, and buy a few extra..and nappies when there is a good deal on them too, But buy a few diff sizes, not just new born etc( forward planning is the key)

DONT go over board and buy loads of new born baby grows and clothes, as you will get loads of pressies, and you will wash them once , and the little tike would have out grown them:rotfl:, so wash and wear is the motto

It looks as if the easy way to do it would breach the safety regulations :( . We could set the rooms up with the wall running the other way but it would be too much of a hassle and would certainly be too expensive. Guess I need to kiss my dining room goodbye :(

CTC we moved our DD into her nursery when she was 6 months and I would be reluctant to have rummlet in our room for any longer than that.

I keep a reasonably well stocked food cupboard and I have been slowly adding a few extra bits and pieces with my shopping so that they are full. There is no way I am venturing out in the (potential) snow and rain if I don't have to. Also keeping an eye on ebay, gumtree etc for bargain bits and pieces although we are not really going to buy much.

Looking at birth to potty reusable nappies to try and save some money and to prevent even more landfill. Loads of research to do still to make sure that every penny we spend works really hard for us :D

Well, the van passed its MOT without mention of the steering rack.:D

However, it would have failed if left as it was because new regs require the pin to be in the tow hitch and the electrical socket for a trailer had no cover. I have no pin and no need to trail anything. Simple solution: cut off the socket and unbolt the towing eye. :p Talk about jobs for the boys! angry-smiley-055.gif

Having a walk around Winkleigh while waiting, I noticed a distinct lack of insects. I carefully examined a stand of buddleia fully 20' long and there was nothing on it! Winkleigh is a place with many chocolate-boxy houses and cottage gardens to match, so I've no idea why things there were so dire on the insect front. :(

Also, in only 1/2 an hour of wandering, I spotted 3 people driving while talking on mobiles....and two of them were ladies somewhat older than me! :rotfl:

Hurries off to examine his own buddleia......

    .

Saw the TV news report on the Royal Welsh Show last night and the surprisingly high number of people being treated....for horsefly bites!

Perhaps the Winkleigh horse flies are having a few days break in Mid Wales ;)

There will be a ten year age gap and we feel it would be unfair for a teenager to share with a toddler. If we didn't have the dining room then they would be sharing however we have the space and it would be unfair to them not to use it.

Yep still no rain here - I put everything inside yesterday that I didn't want to get wet, needn't have bothered!

Alfie, you'll have to come and see all the animals when you visit this way, the goats are particularly friendly.

Some friends have put a hot tub in their garden, she has arthritis type problems, can't quite remember the exact thing but has two bionic knees and needs all sorts of painkillers. But she is the most active busty person ever!

Anyway it wasn't the permanent expensive kind of hot tub, it was the inflatable sort. She had a little pool party and now everyone's getting a hot tub! They're only about three-four hundred quid and they last for a good few years - not a bad deal over it's lifetime. They never go on holiday so it's a treat for them to have at home, and they've used it loads already so a sound investment!

no wonder everyone wants a hot tub....to invite your friend ;):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

How you feeling today Alfiekins??? better??

Davesnave, this is going to sound thick:D but with the air pressure/thunder storms around at mo, would have something to do with no insects?

I haven't seen any flying ants this year, or maybe its too hot for them??

Haven't heard from the sandblaster this week, so will have to find his number and give him a ring to see if it is still on for tomorrow.

No rain here, seen some clouds, and that's about it.. very hot, and humid....PLEASE RAIN:rotfl: ( we wern't saying that last year)

I would say that insects are usually more active (or we see more of them) in hot, humid, pre-thunderstorm conditions. That's when the swallows here are lowest, as the flying insects are closer to the ground. To be honest, I think we see few small insects here, like midges, because the swallows hoover them up!

Maybe the cold spring meant that ant colonies did not build up sufficient numbers or have the right trigger conditions to swarm in the early summer, which is when they normally do it. (I think....might be wrong!)

We have heard from the vet that Daisy is anaemic. I told her that last Friday, but it cost £80 to prove it! :( Daisy will get pills and an injection, (steroids?) but I think it's just palliative care.

Edit: No rain here, or anything like rain clouds. Just another nice day.
