hi all..
well,i have spent the last 4 days argueing with the dam insurance company of "swipee"...
she "omitted" to tell them there was a witness ? i told them well that is tantamount to a fraudulent claim by her that i was at fault.
said i was going to put in a complaint re thier complacancy...
i gave them witnesses details days ago, they reckon they couldnt get hold of him... yet id easily spoken to him twice ??
today HE rang them, told them exactly what happened and :j:j sorted ...
accepted full liability, fixing car, getting hire car AND compensation:D
apart from that its been an odd day weather wise. sun one minute, black and rain next ??
spoke to rozee.. they are going flat out to try and get house finished.. she said she "will be back " when sorted out.
got some more dahlia's todaycant resist a bargain :rotfl:
in need of an adventure me finks

Great result alfie with the insurance company. In my experience - (rear ended twice and a van reversed into the front of my car) they will do anything to wriggle out of responsibility if they think they can. Thank goodness you had a witness and who was helpful. Must be your inimitable charm
;);)
Out bid on ebay again a few mins ago:(:( No ebay karma at all atm.
Oh and don't ever order tiles from Homebase online. Rang up today to find out where my order was and was told by the supplier that they had left voicemails (that I hadn't got) one a week for 3 weeks. They wanted to check that I still wanted the tiles before they did anything - well of course I did, I had ordered and paid for the bloomin things. Well, after all the tiddling around they are OOS. So had to cancel the order and will have to start my tile search again.:mad::mad::mad:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

My new plants are growing, but May weather hasn't been that great - never broke 20 degrees in Glasgow so the rain hasn't been matched by the temps to get plants moving. The gazania haven't grow a mm since being planted out.
SO far it's been the astilbe that really have got going, I guess they like the wet. The other plant that is doing very well is Carex Buchananii, that's the one which folks think is brown and dead grass! I brought some divisions from my last garden of a very strong grower and I now have 10 large 'fountains'.
Anyhow, bought a Carex flagellifera 'Kiwi' which has lime-green in the leaves -
Am thinking I might do an 'extreme' division down into plantlets and grow them on in the coldframe for a season.0 -
:j im going on an adventure :j

BD - Cookers are expensive but the price varies for the same models incredibly.
Argos - evil company are pretty cheap. I've been googling & trying to compare prices. On ebay there appears to be a guy in Brum who sells ex-display & seems keenly priced, but too far for us to make sense of delivery costs really.
Very muggy here this evening & tried to list some stuff on ebay, but sales do seem dead - after the hacking...they were before it too!0 -
morning all,
Father's funeral this morning at 10am, I am not going, but hubby and youngest have gone...after all the crying, every emotion under the sun, it does seem things are lifting from me, if that makes sense.
Going to have a FAB weekend... going to the monthly farm auction tomorrow..with a special friend.. so god help hubby with the 2 of us delving through all the crap lol... ( know in my luck it will be not much crap there)
weather wise its a bit grey and dull here, but I am sure they have forecasted a nice weekendWork to live= not live to work0 -

I was at hospiatL yesterday ( just scans, nothing horrid) and left early, and had time to revisit Sandbanks and was reminded how much I dislike it. Its not where I would go were I able to. That's as big as my adventures get this week. :rotfl:0 -
For Maggie:
As promised some reds.
Sorry about black spot , hands and snaps. Its a bad black spot year, and with all this rain things are balling badly and head heavy....
This is the one I think closest to your taste of mine, its the princes trust,
This rose , gypsy boy , is the rose that convinced me I might like reds. It was very red in the picture I saw, but in reality Its a funny colour, not quite red or crimson but almost magenta. It taught me when choosing roses to look at lots of pictures or see it in the flesh or at least get someone to take pics in true light saying this seems true colour for me, to give you closest possible guide. I like it.....but, er, perhaps might not have been so enthusiastic with a key position to a once bloomer for this rose. I have purposely included it with a bloom of albertine, a well known rose so you can have an idea of colour trueness. It looks far less red in real life, more the colour of the fully open bloom and the fully open bloom looks more blue/ purple toned. Its not purple though. Not quite fuscia or magenta.
This is half a falstaff
Its become more red each year, it started quite blue/ purpley/ magentay and now its sort of port/ claret coloured. Like the pic. I like it more than I did originally. Great scent, excellent long season, but no great flush. Looks superp with aloha next to it, delightful
Y colour clashingly wonderful.
Ena harkness. Might be to blowsy for you. She's pretty standard and I am surprised how much I like her. Scent is amazing though. She's unhappy in a pot here, waiting for a space ,. ( edit, no, that's not, that's a princes trust bloom, sorry!, good true shot of that though!)
And a nasty balled bloom for size and truer colour0 -
As more come out I'll snap them for you if I can

Alfie...
Another weird thing I am looking for....
Very ornate cupboard doors...only the doors, and mirrored. I want to use a single width one ...like a big single door cupboard ideally, as a door to our bedroom at the end of the corridor past the bathroom, so , corridor width! But want to use then for all the doors in the master suite. Not matching is perfect.
Where do beautiful cupboards go to die??.0
