when i came here ther was / is a stannah chair lift thingy on one of the stair cases. i joked my son could use it to get upstairs after a "night out" BUT it has to go !! im bay'ing it but not sure if it will sell. are there any charities that need/want this sort of thing ??

Morning all,
Alfie I should imagine there is, or even contact maybe local social services, or is there a grant for people to put them in??
Well Boglets are 6 weeks old today, so we should be thinking about weaning them now.. they are like little bulldogs lol. really fat and chunky...the next pig auction is on the first Friday of the month, so they will be just over 8 weeks old, so will see how they are looking like, and if they are doing well after being weaned, and we will think about taking them then...
Weather wise here is damp and grey... any idea what the weather forecast is for the weekend??
Farm auction on Saturday... so might try and get some junk ready to take down... if the weather is ok...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dull and a bit chilly here today
Just eating my breakfast and looking out in shame at my front gardenthe word I would like to use is lush however it is embarrassingly wild
Hubby is off for a few days and the weather is due to be reasonable so I think we will make it our priority.
Alfie Some companies will sell reconditioned lifts and may give you something for it. Often they are hard to resell as they are house specific however if it is a long straight rail it may be easier.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

As the rump steak said, "I'm all behind," but I think I've caught up now.
Out and about a bit recently, and already the grass seems to be back where it was last week. What prodigious growth goes on at this point in the year! Still, we're eating our own courgettes again, which is always a cause for celebration.
Tomatoes by the end of the month? Well.....maybe!
We had the rumbles of thunder and torrential rain yesterday, then sent it up-country.:p The stream turned a lurid shade of brown; the result of a big arable field to the east of us losing some of its soil.
Tonight 'tis lovely & fresh, :jbut I have been stacking logs inside a shed for the last couple of hours. We finally got three deliveries in rapid succession, but as we were taken by surprise, they went everywhere and used up all the space. Now, properly stacked, there's room for another 3 loads.0 -

Mmmmm, and I got a huge bruise on the leg too.:( As usual, there were a few mega-logs, so feeling energetic, I had a bit of a log smashing session with the splitting axe, until one flew out and caught me on the shin. Forgot I'd only trainers on.... and thin trousers... ...at least it wasn't shorts!
It was a real alfie-type injury, and all self-inflicted. I'm getting some gaiters! :rotfl:0 -
Went to lottie this afternoon, OH did the nemaslug stuff over most of the plot. The bit that the near neighbours took the carpets off for us on the work day in the Spring (they found 4 on top of each other and then OH found another one too  ) didn't get done. Next time maybe! I finished off scraping out the weeds from the main bit of patio in front of shed. OH did some more of the rest. I did some random deep digging to get at bindweed roots that had started growing again  and then started deep digging over the bits where the carpets had been that OH made a decent start on to try and get out more bindweed and couch grass.
Just thinking of coming home when OH got call on mobile from his cousin about selling Ma-in-Law's flat, had to be terminated suddenly when there was a clap of thunder and sudden rain! Made it to car with camera before it got too bad, and OH picked up rest of stuff. We just hope the little nematodes didn't drown in the downpour! Fortunately it was only a short shower though torrential for that short time, so fingers crossed!
The lovely peony we inherited lost a load of petals overnight, so I'm glad I took photos day before yesterday! At the lottie 19 May 2014 by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
