Cat is OK, thanks, but now can't seem to lift her head, so she's looking downwards all the time. This is new today. She's still purring etc and sleeping normally.
Possibly another small stroke. She's had petit mal for years.0 -
poor thing....hope she gets through the min stroke...
right, that's enough sitting on my backside... time to do some work.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Things aren't looking that great for big dog ATM either. I noticed yesterday that her proprioception to all limbs looked a bit less great. Tbh, people not interested in biomechanics might not notice, but I notice. Also, last couple of weekends she has spent most of the time inside ( we prop the door open and they can be in or out with us) whilst the other two have been with us the whole time. As I type now she is curled in a tight little ball next to me on the sofa, as small as the grey, and happy to be with me, but generally I think she is feeling her age.
I cannot be trapped with her not able to get in the car, it would be an impossible end for her. I might have to make the call rather soon, too soon. But better too soon I think in our particular situation ATM.0 -
((LIR)) and ((Dave)) it is always difficult when our pets are struggling.
A bit dull here today however I am hoping to get a bit done in the garden. Not hopeful of getting much done though.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Big news - I've won an incubator
there goes the last of my restraint! I'm all enthused and fired up and stuff! I've been outside and planted up a few things grown indoors from seed, done a bit of weeding and am just relaxing after a bit of lunch.
CTC - will you please PM me with who you got your quail hatching eggs from?
We love the eggs too, so I have plans for a little flock of layers. I've been gifted an almost-new rabbit hutch, and one of the two-tier ones will be in my hands in a couple of weeks too, so I can have two flocks of 4 or 5 birds. I'm excited! :j
Oh, and some POL chickens in a couple of weeks as well :rotfl:"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
Alex, have you incubated eggs before? have you got a brooder etc?
what size is the rabbit hutch??
personally if you haven't incubated chickens before, I wouldn't start with quails eggs, I had to dispatch one today... it was smaller than the other chicks, and they were just picking on it all the time...
quails can be quite nasty to each other if they are not happy with things..
what incubator did you win??Work to live= not live to work0 -
Much better weekend weather than expected here in Glasgow, so some gardening (in between @office due to the ongoing IT problems).
Magnolia stellata buds are just opening, looks like it benefited from the move from shade to sun. Similarly the cotinus is going to be far better in the sun. Can't believe how many plants I've now moved after the 'stick them in for now' approach last Aug/Sep when I was running out of time.
After the thread on climbing roses, I've just ordered Mme Alfred Carrière to go over the new pergola.
Looks like the last frost is forecast for Thu/Fri cold snap, so hopefully can get the bedding out on the BH Monday (keeping fleece to hand, just in case).
Just moved three pots of egg-yolk yellow tulips to the NE side of house, thinking the flowers won't go over so quick as leaving them facing due south. The NE side faces the road, and I have some friendly horticultural rivalry with the chap opposite, so I'm sure he'll take note!
I have ended up with hideous colour combination of scarlet rhododendron , self-seeded orange berberis and mauve bergenia beside each other. Vile!0 -
No gardening for me as we ended up with surprise guests
It was lovely to see them however I would rather have been gardening
I did have a look out the window tonight and felt a wee swell of joy at the beds that have been cleared so far. It is lovely to see the contrast between the soil and the grass and to know that soon they will be filled with delicious things.
We will just need to find the time from somewhere to get the rest of it done. Although it is raining again tonight and my soil is heavy enough without being drenched.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Rummer, you are being very productive
Don't know if this will work, but here's a pic of the gosling. We are all in love with it. It's like a little wind up toy https://www.dropbox.com/s/3zvmy9g4luej3g9/2014-04-27%2008.48.44.jpg0 -
Gorgeous. And the other chicks too.0
