Hope Dad gets over the stroke Phoebe.
At least he was safe when it happened with someone around to reassure him. My Dad had a number of falls before I could get him into the right place. He wasn't unsteady, so I wondered.....
Rummer, they are all easy enough to grow, but the best tarragon is French, which can't be seed-raised. Seed tarragon is 'Russian.'OTOH, French tarragon may not always survive that far north.

Rummer and Dave - thank you both for your kind thoughts xxx
He is comfortable, but in a very deep sleep and atm they don't know when/whether he will pull through........it's at times like this I once again regret not moving closer when we had the chance
At least there's plenty to do in the house/garden to keep me from dwelling on things.....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Very sorry to hear your Dad is so poorly phoebe1989seb.
Thinking of you and sending you cyber hugs xx Take care and try not to get too exhausted with worry and distractions :grouphug:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

sorry to hear about your Dad, cyber hugs from us too.
well went back to have my blood pressure done again, yep still high, so they are refering me to the bigger dr's in the practice to have a blood pressure thing put on for 24 hrs, so they can monitor it for the 24 hours, before they make a decision about refering me to the Dr etc..
using my youngest's note pad, lol... really wired...:D

Quite tired, thanks to leaving here at 8am to visit Bideford, Barnstaple and South Molton before lunch.
Came home loaded to the gunwales with supplies as usual, but we have enough layers pellets, compost and food to tide us over for a couple of weeks now, so no distractions.....apart from the fact that our children and their other halves have invited themselves here next weekend! I think the weather's due to break just before then.....:rotfl:
More tree planting this afternoon, but no word on the order, so I'm assuming we'll have some gaps.No worries, so long as we clear the tree nursery site, because BiL will be making a permanent base for his caravan there and plumbing it in. In return, he'll install a loo for the barn, as we already have a second septic tank in place.
Speaking of trees, on the way home, we spotted that owners of a local 'big house' had just coppiced their red willows, which provide a nice bit of colour in winter. We came to a rapid halt, the hazard lights went on, and after a bit of undignified scrabbling over a ditch, I managed to retrieve half a dozen cut stems......They'll grow.:D

lol.... Davesnave.. I had visions of both of you crawling on your bellies doing an SAS style thing to get your willow...lol
I think I need to start opening my eyes when I am on my travels, and make sure I have a plastic bag in my pocket at all times,
Even though you have had a busy morning/day it sounds as though it was a good day, we plan our trips now to get more done.. or if I need to nip to a shop more than a few mils away, I make sure I stock up when I am there..Work to live= not live to work0 -

On the plus side - the first 'four egg' day:j:j:j:j
On the minus side - washing machine packed up:(:(:(:(
On the plus side - found a bargain WM and it is being delivered on Weds :cool::cool::cool:
Just watched the Sports Relief programme that I recorded from last week about hunger in the UK. Definitely lot more on the plus side than on the minus side at BD ranch - we are very lucky in what we have.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Well I found some herb seeds in my tin and got them planted up. There is tarragon (Russian), parsley, oregano, coriander, dill, sorrel and thyme. So I only need a couple of things now
What things should I be sowing indoors now?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Davesnave is your Dr's appointment today?? if it is hope it goes well, and they can get things 'moving'
I am flipping kicking myself, a I cant find those flower seeds I bought from the bay... they got delivered to work, and I have hunted through my desk drawer, just hoping they didn't get put in the bin...soooo annoyed with myself..
I have seeds, free with magazines etc, that I have had for a few years, think I will sow them, and see what happens...
I bought a secondhand greenhouse, when we bought the ranch, and the only thing we done was put the frame up..lol... ( we do have a greenhouse at this house as well) so once the big bomfire is lit, and burned we will put the plastic sheets on the greenhouse, BUT in the mean time... We are trying to re-use things we are finding around the place, and we found the metal legs/base of an old table, and the old sink that came out of the house.. and we thought we could put it into the green house, either to use as potting up area using the actual sink basin to hold the compost while potting up, OR if there was a way of the water from a water but outside to be pipped into the sink when needed, what do you think? will it work??
all we have done with the greenhouse is put the frame up and put it where we want it... now we have cut trees down we know the sun will get to it for most of the day...don't know what to put on the ground yet..??Work to live= not live to work0
