Davesnave, I think I would be inclined to clear it sooner than later, and weigh it in rather quickly.. it could be a health and safety issue, ( ahem)

Yes, it will be 'weighing' on my mind all day now! :rotfl:

But I must be fair and give them a chance to pick it up. After all. I already have 3 massive poles, capable of supplying all the gate posts I'm ever likely to need. :D
  • OMG!!!!!!! THE WIND HERE IS SCARY!!!!

electric has been on and off like a pro's knickers... and as the day has gone on, the wind has got worse and worse, so we shut up sent peeps home....

locally a roof has blown off a building, trees down... a local bridge
has been closed, as yesterday a lorry got blown over...and by all Accounts its going to get worse...

Dread to think what damage its done elsewhere, near the coasts...

Wind has veered from SW-ish to more W-ish here, but seems to be getting up more. Had a nice rainbow a bit earlier, but it's gone all grey and rainy again now. Very glad we don't have to go out in this! :o Gawd only knows what the lottie will look like after this!

We're OK, but it's been scary.

Had to go into South Molton this morning, and in the Mole Valley I had to stop for a huge branch which had just crashed down and blocked the whole road. Managed to drag it partially clear with the help of another guy, but the road was running like a river and I ended up with damp feet.

In Mole Valley Farmers their outdoor stock was taking off from the stands it was on and the situation looked worrying, so I was glad to pick up the things we needed and head for home (by a different road!)

We're having a violent hailstorm ATM. I'm supposed to be fetching some logs, but I'll give it a miss just now! :rotfl:

Great, I'll have that soon then?

Its been patchy here, rough then quite pretty ( though still rough wind). Bit of hail, some torrential rain. ATM clear and brisk. Earlier I thought I was gong to lose front door . I'm content. I'm out of the floods :o

    Horrible here today.
Windy, rain, but thankfully no flooding.

So far electric has stayed on (thank goodness)

    Stay safe CTC

My feelings, in a nutshell. We may be having a few problems, but it's nothing, compared with some others.

My main worry is that we shall see continuing unpredictable weather with no 'normal' for much of the time. If that's the case, though, we'll just have to adapt to that. :(

PS. All [STRIKE]wire[/STRIKE] scrap material is now in barn for safe keeping!!! Can't be too careful as it's a real trip hazard. ;)

Fine here, out early am to post parcels but stayed in thereafter as winds v strong. Oil/logs in, fire going, leccy on, no flooding so we are very lucky.

Candles lit, torches charged, lots of people worse off.
