  • WOW... that's one heck of a quote BD... insurance companies know exactly what they are doing... as you said... you got to work out if it is actually worth paying that now....does it cover the price of the meds??

WELL I must be officially classed as old... as I slipped when I was trying to get out of the bath, and wacked my arm... called hubby, and, after he knew I was ok, he piddled himself laughing, as said he would get me one of those walk in baths....lol.... think I better get one of those bath slip mat things....

Was snowing earlier, but it didn't stick, as it was 'wet' snow...

    Yes, just about! :o

It's been a long day and the work over-ran. Western Power were rewiring a much larger area than I imagined.

About an hour after switch on at 18:30, it all went off again, a couple of times! :(

    Think I trust it now.....
  • glad your back Davesnave..

It does make you think how lucky we are compared to our ancestors , with electric, phones, cars etc...BUT somewhere along the line there has got to be a payback for it...

Bit of a quieter night last night, But I am a bit wiery sp? with what the roads are going to be like.. as they have said icy conditions..

I know its a while yet, but does anyone know what date the clocks go forward???

Leccy went off again last night after I said it was OK! :(

Earlier, when we were off, we could see flashing amber lights at a farm well over a mile away, so we know that our bit was just a part of a much greater whole. Bound to be a few teething problems. ;)

Following my morning tour of the 'estate,' I must say the leccy people were extremely tidy and left very little evidence, despite finishing in the dark.:A

Obviously, the land's a bit carved-up in places, but the fences are all fine. :D

There's just one bit of 'rubbish'.....a substantial amount of the old copper wires....(more than I can lift in one go!) which they didn't clear up, but left by the gate. I thought they were loading it last night when I went down in the dark, but it seems they were adding to it! :)

I presume someone will come and pick up, but if not.....:j:j
  • Davesnave, I think I would be inclined to clear it sooner than later, and weigh it in rather quickly.. it could be a health and safety issue, ( ahem)
