We're going to have same problem as last spring, too much rain to spray or cut befor things have got so big we are fighting an I winnable war.

I'm gagging to spray. (Remember that organic dream) some areas.

Although it will make us really exposed I'm thinking about hauling out some more hedge and panting more yew.

I have always sprayed, selectively, sure in the knowledge that it's me against them, and there are many of their progeny still dormant! :(

I don't spray where we raise food crops though, and only in the 'fallow' chicken orchard. Thankfully, the need to intervene chemically is now quite small. My last spray job was to clear what Pete calls "That there tufty grass" from the new copse area. It's just too much competition for the trees and other grasses.

Our yews made really good progress in their second year, but they aren't a quick fix solution. By the end of their third, I think they'll be doing a useful windbreak job....just about. :)

Back on the subject of spraying, in the polytunnel (where I use only soap spray) I receive great help from a couple of wrens, which fit under the rear doors and just come & go as they please. :D In April they may not keep up with the aphids, but right now those little blighters don't stand a chance! :T

    gotta tell you.....

had call from BUHA secretary asking for another contact address today to send correspondance as they are putting my deposit into the secure thingy [government thing]...
i said... have you not done that already ?
she said ... no you were there pre 2007
    i said.... why another address?
she said... it has to have another address incase !!

i told her id get back in touch, bemused ...

welll...... turns out they should have done this when my tenancy changed in 2012... they cant serve me notice unless this is done....:rotfl:

    quote from regs ..

The decision in the Court of Appeal has clarified that, in this scenario, the deposit should be protected and the Prescribed Information served at the time the tenancy became periodic or was renewed. This is a change to the way in which it was understood the legislation was meant to operate but nonetheless is now the legal position.

    they are soooooo panicking :D:rotfl:
they could be fined 1-3 times deposit plus deposit returned..:p

so its obvious they want to do this in order to serve me notice..
HANDED IT TO ME ON A PLATE....PLANKS !!!:rotfl:

i can now tell them that not only did this break the law but also the last rent increase was illegal.. if they dont pay up let the court see the rabbit so to speak ;):D

i am soooo gonna enjoy this :T

Yes, they ask for an alternate address and contact details so they can communicate with the tenant if they move out.

You might want to check the mydeposits website. It has a section for Tenants as well as landlords. I deregister and reregister all new tenancies. Even if the same tenant stays there. Sounds like they're in the doodoo :)

Alfie, I'd consider starting a thread on the housing board too. There certainly used to be a tremendous breadth of knowledge people there.
