Davesnave the latest notice of coding that was issued to you should be on your record online with the date issued. I do my friends SA return for her and her notices of coding are on her record too.

    Doh!!!:doh::doh::doh:

Thanks, that's very useful to know. :jCan't think why I didn't look there.

    Kinda obvious eh? :o

Hey there, please can I come back to play? I was around on the first thread but then kind of drifted off...:o

Anyway I have decided to seriously work towards buying a woodland and thought saying it out loud and joining you guys might help to keep me focused!

As I have a heap of debt and no savings, this will be no mean feat!

I am very ambitiously planning to pay off my debt within a year, so will be trying to come up with some ways to raise cash. I have started a diary and joined a number of challenges on the DFW board.

I am then planning to sell my house to raise the cash for the woodland and will rent a small house or flat as a base . There is just DS2 and me at home, he's 15 now and I reckon I will be in a position to go ahead in 2-3 years so he'll be 18ish and he is totally on board with the idea. There's around enough equity to buy 4-5 acres at current prices, so barring a housing crash or total economic meltdown (both of which are not beyond the realms of possibility I admit) it's a plan:D!

So I have 2-3 years to get the house in a fit state to sell and learn woodland management!

    Wish me luck...

Hello and welcome JayneC I love that you have such a clear plan! I am curious however as to why you are interested in a woodland in particular?
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Alfie.... THANK YOU!!!!! FAB!!!!! BRILL!!!!!! YES!!!!!

Hahahaha Bimble... it looks as though he would sleep on the fire if he could...

JC... good luck... its possible, just stay focus, there will be more downs and ups on your journey... but hang on in there.. Woodlands are starting to create more of an interest now at auctions etc... and I should imagine managed well, and subject to certain terms etc laid down by the laws that be, could generate a bit of steady income with the demand for logs/wood etc.. BUT you need to speak to your local authority, and forestry commission.. as I know you are only allowed to cut so many cubic meters of trees down in any one quarter, and only allowed to sell a certain %age of that...

This is to make sure that no one buys a wooded area an cuts down most of it in one go..

As you can see I am up and wide awake early again...

We are in Exeter next week at the motorpoint arena again... fingers crossed its not snowing like last year....lol..

Are you feeling better this morning Rummer? Is Rumlett well?

Welcome JayneC will read of your 'woodland adventure' with great interest.

alfie 1 they do like to get close to the fire don't they, lovely photo of Bimble. There was a first yesterday - Charlie got too hot  and moved a couple of feet away into his bed - though from the expression on his face he could hardly bear to do it :D
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

:hello:Hello again Jayne; nice to have you back on the thread. :) I remember you posting on thread 1, though I wasn't on that right at the start.

Personally, I'd caution against selling a house to buy woodland, if that meant having to rent a home in the future, especially in old age.

Downsizing would be a different matter. Unlike animals, trees care little if you don't visit daily, so holding woodland and living a small distance from it is a great idea from a financial POV. Once people want the house and the land to be contiguous things get expensive!;)

I can't remember why you want the woodland, but I'll admit that when we were looking at property it wasn't as strongly on our radar as it should have been.:o
