:D:D It made me groan so I expect it will be popular. He is now reviewing the script for other 'gems':rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I can hear him sniggering in the kitchen while he is reading it.
I think that script was one of the better ones, though Robin Hood from 2012 was also good. The rest is down to the actors. We're fortunate in having a nucleus of about 6 naturally talented people, who add their own bits to the basic script and carry the rest of us along.0 -
So much to catch-up on!
We had to go out today, to attend a funeral 100 miles away, sprung on us at very short notice. The preparations had been difficult and chaotic, but luckily, someone rang us about it last night.
It was for a dear ex-neighbour of ours. She came into the world on a remote Scottish island 94years ago, before the arrival there of any modern conveniences, and appropriately, her service today took us back to those times. As the coffin came in, all the lights went out, the organ stopped and we were forced to continue in semi-darkness!
But it was OK, and people sang remarkably well unaccompanied.
At the very end, just as the coffin bearers were leaving, power was restored to that part of the city. I couldn't help wondering if our friend had been playing a wee joke on us, as she liked a bit of mischief!
Still on an electricity theme, we returned tonight to find three huge poles and a message saying that the contractors will be start in the morning replacing the power lines. This was supposed to happen at the end of the month, but they've brought it forward. At least we have the Aga!0 -
CTC-Lovely looking pile of meat. Did you get it all done at the abbatoir?
Dave - sorry about the ex-neighbour, but it does sound like a good send off & appropriate too.
What a beautiful clear sky & fat moon outdoors this evening - amazing, just pegged some washing out - as it's still not raining.....0 -

what you see on the scale, is one box ( half pig) we had 16 boxes all together, there was 140 packs of sausages, we still have at approx. 2 boxes left in the abotoir being done for bacon and gammon..
Its a family run place, I went there for the first time to pick the meat up ( hubby takes them and picks up normally) you can just have a kill, kill and cut etc, and you can have a choice if you want it all labelled and vacuumed packed etc... this way its all legal to sell to family and friends, as the labels have all the legal details required etc...
they ha gone too heavy as an ideal weight for cutters is approx. 60 - 80kgs, after that the extra weight is fat....
Davesnave.... sorry to hear about the funeral, a bit unusual with the electric being turned off, BUT I should imagine it was also ment to show how good we got it compared to then, electric, tv, phones, computers etc..Work to live= not live to work0 -

It wasn't deliberate; it was one of a series of power outages they'd been having, possibly connected with the weather. It meant none of us could just mumble along though, covered by the sound of amplified music. The organist had to lead the singing, and we all had to peer hard to see the words, 'cos it was late afternoon and close to dark.
No one will forget that send-off ! :rotfl:
Meat looks great. :T I like that they did burgers for you. We only get sausages and none of ours is vacuum-packed or labelled.:(0 -
ooo sorry Davesnave.. I couldn't have read the post properly.. that was a bit spooky then....!!!!
I Would have taken it as some sort of sign too...
We learned our lesson last time lol, we had one pig vacuumed pack, and the other one not, and hubby just plonked the bags of unvacumed meat in the freezer, and yep, one solid block of meat... lol..
It is also more presentable, PLUS from a legal point of view its got all the legal jargon on it.. use by freezer date, burgers an sausages have got the ingredients listed etc... and the abotoir details etc..
I nearly fell through the floor when we had the bill.... I thought it would be approx. £250 -£300. but it was well over double the top estimate.. basically the dead weight was just over 325kgs so this would in effect be equal to 5 ideal weight sized pigs... hence so many sausages etc...
Davesnave I am in Westpoint in 2 weeks, so if you did need any pork I could have brought some down for you on the Wednesday...
aghhhhh just read and remembered you got pork from pete...
Work and everything is REALLY messing with my head and stress levels... extremely long story cant go into details, but I really cant cope with it all. Just going to be number crunching diff sinario situations a lot today and over the weekend..
I am worried about Rummer... and Rumlet.. PLEASE Rummer if you don't want to post, can you pm me...Work to live= not live to work0 -

....And itsme's not posted for some time as well.
We're stacked out with meat in our freezers, but much of it is lamb now. Pete's lamb is less fatty than his pork, which must be better for me, because I have to lose weight.
I went off lamb for years, but his has changed my mind.0 -
I was thinking that too, and hopefully stitchy's move has gone ok..
Rhiwie... In your honest opinion.. being a good person with money, economy etc.. do you think ebay will change for the worse in the future for sellers..?? I am going to be making a potentially life changing decision in the next few months... ( that does sound dramatic, but it will be work wise) AND at the moment My judgements and potential decisions are a bit clouded, My gut is telling me I could make a good livible wage out on ebay, BUT after the intial few months worth of stock that I have, then I would have to go out and buy stock, and as you know on that side of things at the moment I am in a really good position for that..
Things are not going to plan... work wise with an on going LL and with neigbouring unit owner causing us not being able to use one of our units... due to fiberglass resin honking our unit out and causing huge financial loss..so I am soooo stressed . please do not copy I will delete part of this post...Work to live= not live to work0
