Do you have a sugar themomtre Rummer?
I was taught to make candy by eye and with cold saucers so by consistency but its much harder without some one to show you that way.
Themometre a don't work so well for me, because I prefer my ways, but they are great for DH who didn't learn at a candy making Mamma and Various ladies who were in our kitchen for one reason or another knee.
My mamma was born on in a big and comfortable family, and her great aunt was a very lucky lady with a full staff, who never cooked anything in her life but for candy. My mother learnt to make candy from her.0 -
Had a quiet day today, but then the weather early on didn't inspire activity. The problem with a full-on, productive day is that it's often followed by a slobby-out day.
The hoolie let us test the weatherproof strip we put in yesterday over the new doors on the barn. It worked fine, but water was still being blown under the door.
I guess we can live with that, as it doesn't go far.
Sitting here wrestling with the Panto script. It's...er...possibly less inventive than its two predecessors.
All very well me criticising, but I can't see many places where I can add a few more topical lines. So far, I've added wind turbines and Kim Kardashian to my lines... It's not enough!:(

Ok, fifty Florentines is probably enough, right?
We have made honey and hazelnut liqueur marshmallows too, and are toying with plum and star anise ones.
Marshmallows aren't as warm as Florentines and all that lovely oven opening.
I'm getting bored with being inside so much..

I haven't much idea what you're talking about, but I get the idea it wouldn't assist with this weight loss I'm intending to achieve when tomorrow night is out of the way!0 -
