I'll let clients know I'll do tomorrow I think.

We got two trees in (meeches prolific quince and Harry baker crab apple). Hope they are ok. I put stakes in with them but think I won't tie them til after tomorrow. I think the stakes might be in more danger than very young newly planted trees tbh, so I could replant trees,,....unless they have snapped on newly moved stakes.

We have to collect goose form the other side of a flood plain tomorrow. I saw today that was pretty high so will have to go round the long way.

Oh dear, Mr BD isn't having a very good DIY day. My fault - I asked him to fix the wonky toilet seat and put up a mirror in the bathroom.

Cue nearly two hours with lots of swearing, tools strewn all over the floor - and...... a broken toilet seat. It was explained in great detail what the problem was, but I limited my intervention to buying a replacement on Amazon (just signed up to the free 3 months Prime).

Then on to the mirror. Massive crash upstairs. It must be the mirror. Scuttle upstairs, no it it was a mug that got broken.whew.gif

Still he did manage to de-poo the back garden without incident, but is limping from a pulled muscle as a result of not warming up properly for his run this morning.

Had the chimney swept on Thurs and now can enjoy a fire in the evenings. :D:D:D

Sorry to read that it's not quite the "season to be merry" for some of you.

Let's hope everyone has some happy hours over Christmas and a nice surprise, or two. :A

ATM it seems to be the 'season to be lethargic' here, as I don't seem to have done very much. I could probably claim lots of interruptions, with people delivering their cards etc, but it would be a weak excuse. :o Today, for example, I've just lurked in the polytunnel, tidying and potting on. It's still reasonably warm in there, daytimes.;)

A couple of pheasants showed up with impeccable timing, just after I'd bought the most ginormous free-range chicken.:rotfl: I suppose we wouldn't have had 'just' pheasant for Christmas dinner, but I could have purchased a more modest bird, had I known they were on the way.....

Lifted more Yacon. It's big. Picture later.

EDIT. Better Days, inspire me with confidence, why don't you!

I too have to repair a toilet seat, plus deal with a second cistern which makes farting noises (actually water hammer) in the 'guest suite.' ....And there was me thinking our guests were just reacting to the excellent cuisine here! :rotfl::rotfl:

Has Mr BUHA been watching the Harry Potter films for inspiration?

Dave, good luck with your toilet seat repairs. The experience in this house is that it is a very lenghty and time consuming process, advise that you put aside a day at least to bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion. Amazon are delivering our new seat tomorrow, so will update you all with the next thriilling installment. Bet you can't wait, ha !

Mr BD has put a water saving thingy in the 'old' toilet cistern. Trouble is that the thingy floats around and gets stuck under the big orange thingy so that the loo won't flush. I then have to take the top off the cistern and fluggle my hand around to move the water saving thingy to a more suitable location in the cistern. Save water it might, but not my patience.

Shame there is not something similiar you can put in an oil tank. Our boiler guzzles oil - Mr BD has worked out that £660 of oil purchased at the begining of the month will last only until March at current consumption rates:eek::eek::eek:

We're going swimming this morning, so I'm trying to find a swimming costume I can squeeze into in my drawers......I should probably keep in on to do animals by the looks of things........

You can put a brick in the cistern and it will do the same thing. :)

We put almost £600 worth of oil into our tank and I'm darned sure it won't last until March.

Blowing a hoolie here , but there does seem to be some spare capacity in the rivers if it should rain hard.

Top tip, don't go swimming in your drawers, lir, the chlorine plays havoc with the elastic. ;)
