Well found my own missing lamb in a storm in a bramble bush just above the shore. Really awful electrical storm raging & half wondering why I was looking for what I thought must be by now a dead lamb.
I sent the person who I'm pretty sure called the police a Christmas card wishing them all the best & asking them to phone us if they have any concerns. And signed it your neighbour. It's one of those cards from Oxfam with the message on the back about Humankindness - Hope they take the message as sincerely as it was meant.
I thought that that was the best way to deal with it as I felt pretty sick about someone calling the Police in such a small community.
Errrm...just one thought there and that is that this neighbour might take the card and message at "face value" and do exactly that. I know I would certainly take something that way completely literally and think "Isnt that nice of them to tell me to phone if I have any concerns:):T. How kind. What a nice person. Sounds like they like the idea of people being kind and appreciate my actions in phoning the police out of concern". Just saying that I can see you meant it one way...but a lot of people would interpret it as "Think I might have made a new friend there" and be hoping for an invite round for coffee.
In fairness, I'd say they had no way of knowing that you were actually rescuing the sheep...
....errrrrm....don't hit me. Just saying...

Jilted!:(:(;)
Gluhwein & Stollen last night at a lovely candlelit soiree.
5.45 this morning up with two GSs, 6.30 watching fire engine call outs on the computer with the two year old. "Fire engine" "another fire engine" "another fire engine"
When they got here yesterday we'd put a small box of toys together that had been odds and ends in auction lots. Animal book, no interest. Diecast cars and buses, pretty good. Old plastic gun, "SHOOTERGUN!!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j"
Days are getting longer0 -

Fat chance of putting her feet up with a house full of young children. It will be a few days of broken sleep and babysitting and it will be crimbo night when we can sit in front of the fire and snooze. Though at half ten this morning with the boys out at the beach we were both falling asleep

Well, I certainly wouldn't phone the Police if I knew who the person was & the fact it's a crofting township & they were sat in their car with headlights on full beam as another was going about with a torch - openly. I would stop & ask if they needed a hand as I would know that one of them had mobility issues.0 -
It looks like you're in for the worst of the battering again, choille
Hope you keep your power & the storms don't have too much impact.
It's currently fairly bright & sunny although there's water running down the lane from overnight downpours. The heavy showers keep trundling through.
We had intended going shopping for last minute bits (fresh stuff mainly) on Monday but, looking at the forecast, I think we'll leave it until Tuesday. Christmas Eve shopping will probably be hell but better to be on site while the worst of the rain & wind goes through. At least we can tear outside to pin things down or dig out gullies if necessary.
A bit of respite & then another storm around Friday, they think.
Feeling far from Christmassy but that not unusual out here :rotfl:
However, we have all the necessary culinary ingredients so not exactly being Bah Humbug0
