It's been quite a benign day again here, but the wind and rain are back now with a vengeance. It should calm down again by dawn. We are just getting one depression after another, but it's all from a relatively warm direction and the spacing means no immediate danger from flooding.
I still can't get used to Christmas in this part of the world. No manic panic in the supermarket and no queues.:) I did have a bit of bother finding a double space for the van, though! :rotfl:
Driving home along the main road from Barnstaple, there was no one else travelling in my direction for the entire journey.....Odd for a Friday at 4.30pm. :think:0 -
It's Factory Friday, Dave.0

Ah yes, I thought I didn't hear the hooters sounding, or see any matchstick people trudging home through the smog.0 -

Its seasonal. I can live with that.0 -
Ah yes, I thought I didn't hear the hooters sounding, or see any matchstick people trudging home through the smog.
:rotfl: It s quite daft that they still call it that but they do. Not nearly so many factories left in Barnstaple now.
Judging from the Tweetisphere (be warned there will probably be bad language - not the most refined of places) it's become more of a thing for the youngsters than factory workers.
Weather here rough today/part tomorrow. Respite on Sunday before all Hell let's loose Monday into Tuesday ........ just when I wanted to get out & get a few fresh bits pre-Christmas. Oh, & colder Christmas Day....... unless you're stuck in front of a turkey-filled oven, of course0 -

It's been dreadful here again.
Went out last night to rescue a sheep on the empty campsite next door - not one of mine I may add. Heard it baaaahing. Got it out of a bramble bush. OH was up on the road shining headlights down & I went down with a torch & clippers.
Had the police down in the caravan this evening as they had a report of suspicious behaviour.............0 -
Rofl choille,
Did you ask them to caution your errant lamb?
Solstice!
Two fruit trees have arrived, I
Want to plant them, but we don't have gravel......whats the consensus on sticking some broken tiles underneath them? They are going in holes dug, um.....last year...and there is no doubt our holes are like little sumps. Knowing what I now know next time I will dig trenches , but its holes I have now, and thankfully that are way too deep, so I have loads of room for lots of drainage stuff then soil under the tree.....having watched over the year I think its not too much water compared to a trees needs in the future, so
Long as they are protected in their youth.
Well, I hope anyway!
So, tiles? I have barrow loads of broken roof tiles.....0 -
I don't think the trees would know the difference between well-broken tiles and gravel, lir, especially if you don't tell them which it is.0
