Long term I do want a fitted kitchen, but one that doesn't look like a kitchen, Just the back wall like panelled cabinetry, very austere and early Georgian, then the island. That's all, so just the fridge and cooker will show and it won't feel like a kitchen.
But that will come right at the very end I think. When I have found a chippy I can trust who understands what I am asking for. I have specific requirements for the inside of the cupboards, and I want the cupboards to fit my house, not be standard sizes. I hate that standardisation.
I want it to feel like a reception room in which we happen to cook. Not a kitchen.0 -

Well - Our whole house is far from standard. I know what you mean. Our kitchen will be a live in one so don't want it formica - ed.
I was in a brilliant shop on Tuesday & they had wonderful cabinets in greys - that dove grey colour I love - just wonderful. They'd also got chairs deep buttoned ones that had a contrasting fabric of birds in flight along the front lower edge - just excellent to see & no prices anywhere - that would be common! It's a wonder they let me in it.0 -
Oh alf. Just like old girl. When they go easy like that its definitely not too soon.0

Sheep are hard to love, but I'm sorry yours didn't recover alf.
Like all your animogs, it would have had the time of it's sheepie life. :A
Puddle update. The bit they did is fine. The bit they decided to ignore isn't. From what I can see, years ago, they tarmacked over the concrete pipe, which was one of those with a semi-open top, like this, designed as a collection gulley:
So why didn't they just un-tarmac it while they were here? :mad:0 -

We had a yellow one of them in the kitchen when we moved to our old home. Thought it was still in the shed there, but it isn't. We looked for it for an MSE-er who liked the look, even OH thought ir might still be there. (Roll eyes)0
