After that experience, my tip is never buy on the internet at the price they ask. Whenever I phone these days, they alwasy discount, although I wasn't expecting a discount like that. If it says "Call for Pricing" that seems to mean "we're selling it cheap, but don't want people to know unless they're serious buyers".

Obviously, we were never going to buy one at that price, but I was considering buying new at £2800 when I was offered it for £2500. That'll pay for a dishwasher.

LIR, we aren't going to have anything that resembles a kitchen for now. We'd like something DeVOL like eventually, the beauty of this being that, unfitted, you can buy a kitchen one piece at a time.

Next stop we need a sink and my budget for that is not a lot! I've thinking about getting an old commercial one with two deep sinks. It would be ideal for washing chickens for shows. Speaking of Which I've just entered three of my chooks in the Dyfed Poultry Show in January. Now that's bonkers!

Time to find your local scappers rozee. They will have all sorts that will do if dropped into a simple wooden frame, until you can afford what you really want.

Well, there is a sink from the old kitchen that we might be able to use. And we have alfie's tip on the salvage yard. We'd like to check that out soon. Preloved seems quite good too. There's a huge double drainer sink nearby for £200. I might make some enquiries. Once we have our range and a sink, as far as I'm concerned, that is a kitchen. At least for now.

    My kitchen:

Its a bit messier now! The butcher block is on the back wall with my cooker, and there is a chest of drawers behind the alter. :rotfl:

Oh, and its been painted. I forgot how lovely it looked the plaster colour, warm.

I saw a gorgeous kitchen sink on ebay. I tell you if Alfie and I lived any closer to each other we'd be dangerous together. She's bad enough alone, with a partner in crime, can you imagine?

And we'd have a bigger van I reckon!

Oh I want a 1950s style kitchen in this design and colour! A friend of my grans has this style of kitchen which was actually fitted in the 50s and I LOVE it. Sadly I can't see us ever affording a new kitchen so I will just have to make do with my 70s painted over beige monstrosity :(

and If I lived closer we would be the dream team, as I have 3 vans.... 2 big huge ones...we could grab all the bargains....lol...

I know I have never met you LIR, BUT going by how we get on with Alfie, and how you two get on, I am sure we are on the same wave length,

My cold is coming back... and this cold weather is now playing havoc with my face, drying out, burning and itchy big time, haven't been this bad for years, been using E45, for the last day or so, but not making much diff at mo ( VERY sensitive skin).. so I don't know if it is worth slapping a bit of honey or something natural on it...

Rhiwie... hope you get better soon... it seems this autumn/winter that people are not shaking off colds etc they ease, and then come back..

oooo well will have to have a glass of Danzy Jones tonight, purely medicinal... of course....lol

CTC, I have really difficult skin, all my drugs, and this year got rosacea too, and cannot take drugs for that because of all my other drugs!

I am finding Aveeno cream (about 6.50 from boots) really very, very good. Much better than I ever found e 45.

I use a mixture of skin are from high end (lots I cannot use anymore thanks to stupid skin, in fact.....not sure what to do with loads of my bottles, too empty to give to women's refuge...they like three quarters full or more) but lots of €€€ worth in lots of bottles, if people don't mind dregs..... And very basic stuff.

You need to look at everything not just the moisturiser, anything else you are using, like cleanser. But I'd certainly try aveeno. Its brilliant. (After a honey ,mask would probably be ideal, but be really gentle with it)

Edit.....have you got a diagnosis for skin? Alcohol makes mine worse :(. That's ok, I'm not allowed to drink on my meds anyway.

  • Will def give it ago, which one do you use?

Is this the range you use? or is the brand good in general?

I don't use cleansers etc, and only use moisturiser when I rarely use foundation
