    Horrid day for me today.

Next year I am hoping to spend more time in the garden, not necessarily working but being out there and enjoying it. I would love to grow a couple of things but they can always go in pots if I am too busy/tired/sleep deprived to dig the beds.

  • A bit late, but... congrats Itsme!

2013 has been a bit of a learning curve. Plan, plan, and plan some more, then re-assess hard at the last minute and if it looks dodgy, ditch the idea. Harsh, but that's been the way of it. And keep my trap shut about any plans, or they'll go awry in some fashion.

No ideas for 2014 yet, although chickens in the spring will probably be on the cards...:j

    hi all.

sheep is not good...it was exhausted and they always say "sheep were born to die " :(

today we got it sort of balanced over a hay bale to try and get it on its feet. trouble is, as was mabel, it is huge so not easy to lift or for it to lift its weak self. so i spent various half hours massaging its legs to see if it helped but not looking good.
i put the horses in the next field out of way of FB yesterday but left other 2 sheep in with this one to encourage it .. nah! they just bu**ared off to gaze at the horses next door ....:o
so we have built a hay bale house/wall around the poorly sheep to keep it warmer and let other 2 in with hoss's...no loyalty !!
i think if not up tomorow its the big paddock in the sky..:(

i for one will be glad to see the back of 2013... dads stroke, sons accident, water probs, mabel, poorly dog, sheep, my accidents.... :(:o

im going to a "works do" at a posh hotel friday eve... thought "ooooo im gonna have a drinkypoo's" till friend asked me to drive "as you dont drink" :o..... she's been good to me so i will forfeit making a total dork of myself...:rotfl::rotfl:

the forest this morning was white ,with a low mist and FREEZING COLD  but beautifull :D
had to defrost the van ..
right im off to get rid of this eau-de-sheep in a barf :D

  • Thanks, Alex :D

No, doesn't sound good for the sheep, alfie. They often tend to have a habit of going belly up with very little encouragement.
One good thing, though. Get rid of the whiff & you should have lovely skin from all the lanoline :D

Happy Christmas. Marie, & I hope the New Year is better for you.

:mad::mad: After a horrid and distressing day all I want is a long relaxing bath and the blooming boiler has decided that it is too much effort to work :mad::mad:

Every single year our boiler decides it can't be bothered working in December and it is so infuriating! The engineer comes out every year for about 10 mins and charges £50 to fix it :mad::mad:

I know it is not a big thing but today it is a step too far!

Rummer, hope it gets better soon, seems like its not been good today :(

We are grateful that our oil boiler engineer does a good annual service at a reasonable cost and if there are problems he will sometimes fix them FOC.

Just coming up for air after a hectic two days with two full carloads of buys, one still to be unloaded. But think I've got a chest infection starting so may need to take it easy :o. For once dont feel despondent so that's a loss for sure :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Bought several cast iron cookers, of the miniature kind :o. If we cant have a proper range .....................

They are Crescent stoves Alf. We havent unpacked yet so no photos. Love the coal scuttle with coal in though and copper fry pans.

Possibly the best lot was some slipware, research needed!
