We went off on an adventure to the salvage yard in Silian but it was a bit of wash out. If you want the number, CTC, to call to see what stock they have, I have it.
Had a lovely coffee and panini in Conti's in Lampeter though.
'Orrible here. Would like to stay in bed, but kids don't permit. It looks as though the builders won't be finished by next week. Ho hum.
Still, some scaffolding came down today, so we're nearly there.0 -
Thanks Rozee, If you can pm me the number that would be fab... Will prob take a toddle down there after the new year, can you just walk around, and see what takes your fancy?? I was thinking of going down to have a nose first, and seeing what they got, and get some rough idea on the prices, then compare with new prices, and see what the diff is etc, as in the past I have seen secondhand ( rough looking) go for more than new, I know that is an auction, but allways good to do a bit of pricing research..
Rummer.... so does this mean rumlet could potentially be here sometime in January now??? Even though a traumatic time, I bet you cant wait now... I cant wait too, as we will all be cyber auntie's and uncle's.
Edit..... old chimney pots for plopping around the garden with plants in, how much are they on average??Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dare I say dry and bright here at present, but not scheduled to last much beyond mid-day. Wet again tomorrow.
Never mind, plenty to do under cover and Pete's lamb for dinner.
Late Happy Birthday greetings lucielle....
Nice ranges rhiwfield, and cheap to run I'd imagine.;) We are at that time of the year when doing without the Aga looks like a bad decision, but I know it's not .......perhaps! :rotfl:
Sheep settling-in OK and displaying none of the bad habits of last year's lot, so far at least. There are more in the Horse Lady's field next door, but they won't be long there, then they'll come across the lane to us.0 -

CTC, on the Bay they seem to fetch £15-20 each, collection only
Alf, just finished packing that big old lamp . And found another shovel for one of the ranges
Got the stockroom resorted, today must get all the old stock off the living room floor and into boxes ready to ship out in January
Front bed just about clear and more daylight as a result. Emptied the first log store though0 -
Thanks Rhiwie... there was someone selling them on the bay local to us for £5 each, I knew I should have bought them....
Does that mean, your logs are going down quicker than you expected? ( I know left myself wide open with that remark)
We are burning a mixture of logs and pallets... and use approx. 2 green plastic trays a night ( the ones you see in the supermarkets displaying some of the fruit and veg etc).
Think We def need to get that old brick building thing done up and put a new roof on it in the spring/summer to store our wood in up the ranch....Work to live= not live to work0 -

Thank you CTC, that gave me a much needed giggle
Hope you manage to get your skin sorted, it does look sore.
Another one here who can't wait to see the back of this year. Let's hope 2014 is a good year for everyone.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Panettone is nice. You should whisk up some zabaglione to eat it with too, yum. In Italy you take them with you to people's homes at Christmas much like we would a bottle of wine, but they often just get passed around few hen the host goes t someone else's home theygrab a gifted one, lol.
At Easter they make a similar think in a dove shape. Columba. Pandoro is nice too, no dried fruit.
The are east to bake as well.....0 -

DD1 is visiting today (after mystery shopping a restaurant en-route!;) ) but they're going norf over the Christmas break, as her Outlaws are nearer and it's only fair.
DD2 will be with us on Christmas & Boxing Days, but being in retail, she's back to work on the 28th and needs the day before to travel. In order to get that, she has to work unsociable days around New Year too. This convenient society is only convenient for some.
Luckily, the Christmas tree is just down the hill, probably sitting there, happily slurping up nutients as I type.......:o:rotfl:We're only doing that and cards this year.
Lots of bangs yesterday and the day before, so it will be a case of "Pheasants ahoy!" any moment now. Pete told me how much is paid for each one shot. I could only say...:eek::eek::eek:. Still, I suppose it's a valuable boost to the local economy, even if many are then just dumped. What a waste! :mad:0
