This was a funny one. The job is being done according to the plan that has been drawn up by the architect. The room in question wasn't shown as an elevation drawing on the plans as it was an internal one. The relationship between the window frame, door frame and the floor level hadn't been thought through. the floor was laid and the window installed, then the door frame was put in and it is about six inches below the window frame, looking totally odd and with a huge gap above the door. Fortunately, we came home before it was plastered in and said "You're not doing that!". This is one of a number of examples. It's very frustrating. I try to be understanding, but it's so lackdaisical.

    evening all...

CTC...... this is part of an email i got from someone i know...

They seem to have plenty of work on their hands with the cottage renovation,i dare say there are similar salvage yards down Neath area, but we have one near Lampeter, that is like Steptoes yard, there is virtually everything there, say for instance they wanted to install double glazing, there are loads of good quality windows and doors looking newish,as so many take these out to replace with hardwood, the same with bathrooms in all colours, just a thought.

thought id pass it on ....:D:D

When does the sun come round Choille? I think this time of the year just makes everyone want to curl up and sleep...

Choille Day is January 15th. It's tattooed into the back of my brain somewhere. :o Trouble is, by then I have either burned everything on the bonfire heap, or like last year, it is so wet that nothing will burn. :(

I've been to the Fatstock Show in South Molton. There were a few people I knew there, like Pete, but didn't see anyone from the village itself. It seemed very busy, maybe because they had a bit of a funfair there too this year. That led to a few incongruous photos!

Also noticed that Johnny Kingdom has a rival, selling photos of Exmoor wildlife. Whoever he is, he knows which way up to hold his camera, ;)

My favourite things were some Oxford Sandy & Black x Gloucester Old Spot pigs and some naughty infant carol singers, none of whom would stay still long enough to get good pics without flash:

does that mean you want the top level of door frame level with top level of window ?
mine arent !! in my lounge i have 3 windows, one tiny, and two same size but one is set about 18" higher than other [so window sills are diff levels ] the door top is level with tiny window but other 2 are taller and lower ... and i hadnt really thought about it till now....:rotfl::rotfl:

if they have to highten door frame it may be a problem fitting/getting taller door if its a big difference..

or im toatally getting what you mean wrong..;) :D

best not mention then that he also

keep mainly Wild Boar pigs now,i used to breed pedigree Gloucester Old Spots and Berkshires for years, but the interest in breeding stock fell when the feed prices increased, and i had to find more meat orders,so now concentrate on the Wild Boars

    CTC ..............

The salvage yard is in Silian,a small village on the outskirts of Lampeter, just off the Tregaron road,

    and ROZEE.........

Your friends in Cardigan may be interested in a timber yard outside the town ,up by the sand and gravel quarry, supprising what he gets in as well.
