oooooooooo rhiwi, i loooove that lamp [i bet LIR does too....]
i have a collection of similar in my verandah.. ££££s ????

with regards radiators... here, i walked round the house and drew big X's on the walls where i wanted them and included size.
i feel that if its a qualified fitter [plummer] then he knows the combined strength that my combi boiler can cope with otherwise too big ones means it would struggle to get all the way round the house. sometimes "what you want" aint what you can 'av.............

Which is a valid point...unless part of the job included replacing the boiler with a new one (as mine did) and therefore the newly-chosen boiler should be "man enough for the job".

I do know what you mean, as my starter house came with Baxi Bermuda backboiler powering 7 radiators. I had the Gas Board (as was) struggling and struggling to make that boiler produce both my hot water and enough heat in the radiators. None of those workmen told me the underlying reason for the problem, as I recall, and I think it was only when I myself read that Baxi Bermuda backboilers are only designed to deal with 5 radiators that I realised we were on a losing battle there. Now...how many engineers had been in by then...struggling and struggling and well able to count the number of radiators in the place:wall::doh::think::silenced:

The light will be great by the time you've finished with it, rhiw.

I've been listening to the Beeb news about the Northumbrian Dark Sky thing. They keep saying it's the first. BBC research ain't what it used to be :naughty: even in their own records :rotfl:

Oh dear, money. Sounds reminiscent of LIR's system. That's where a word with Baxi would have helped.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I wish we had dark skies.

Its one of the main things that makes me feel like this house ( and this country) might not be the last home we dreamt of.

Electricity is a goer. Three phase future proofed, but another single phase to be put in for now.......

Anyone know any green issues journalists? I feel this boiler and MCS issue could do with an airing now.
