Oh I love a dominant womanYou get paid to call the shots and the maid buys his own uniform from you
Wales coastline was briefly shining in the late sun, but now its cloud over here in England and across the water. Still, just had a lovely dinner in a restaurant in Clevedon and relaxing now looking over the pier and Bristol Channel, windswept and a little squiffy. And my back has held up this time :j

Just catching up. I have been out of the loop due to DD2's graduation, which was frustrating, yet funny too.
We set off from here at 6.30 am, but had to detour because an accident half an hour earlier had blocked the road. A further accident just short of our destination added another 15 minutes or so, but we were still reasonably on time. However, we then found that people had been nabbing seats for the previous 90minutes, so there wasn't a hope of a decent view. The whole thing was being broadcast over the Internet, and on screens inside, but I still couldn't see much due to a huge pillar. I'd have been better off here!
Anyway, after the preamble, they began the awarding bit, which proceeded at a rate of knots and I filmed what I thought was DDs bit, though I couldn't see what I was filming.
I then relaxed for ten minutes, only to hear DDs name being called! I leapt up, but there was no time to set up the video again so I lunged at the nearest screen and took a snap of that....
I was just in time.....to grab a photo of someone else's daughter, who just happens to share the same names and looks like her! :rotfl:
What are the chances of that?
Edit: The video came out OK, considering the distance I was from the action.0 -
hiya peeps
what a fabulous day ! hot hot hot
fella has just been over to look / check / fix a big generator [backup for thier house] at a freinds house.
they dont want it anymore ...only used a couple of times in 12 years . its a 21kv which is BIG but.... if i had it ,it would do everything with ease and charge up a battery bank that i could use when only want fridge/lights etc. thus albeit prob use more diesal per hour, i would use it less... so i have to do my sums !!:o
if its used at half capacity the fuel consumption is less than if i used all kv, which would be nigh on impossible here.
its BIG as i said and getting it here would need a forklift which fella can borrow. it could go in the back shed ...lots of "fors" but dont want to be blinkered with this !
hes now gone off to build a brick wall so not seeing him for the rest of the weekend..:(
im off to haywards heath tomorow to pick up some stuff a friends bought on the bay. will prob take my mum for the ride...get to see the south downs
did i say i now have a ferret ? found on the forest [lost? dumped? ] an ADDER was trying to attack it. it was very thirsty and hungry so dont know how long it had been there ?
well thats my day so far...off to get piggy food now.0 -
We're toying with a very small diesel genny for back up for here.
We're also ( gulp) considering a different wood pellet option. Gluttons for punishment. The people keep ruling out air source as viable as sole source for here, but use ful for business extra.
Rhiwfield, it's still far too early for my summer pruning for the pears isn't it? They look a bit messy and as onlY two have any fruit ( three or four on one, one on another ) I'm itching to put the energy into growth wher I want it......
Weirdly one is throwing out blossom again now!0 -
Lir, I've pruned mine.
Alf, hot yes, but tempered by the strong sea breeze here. Watched the Lasers race earlier (what a palaver getting them launched!) then Tyntesfield for 3 hours with a cream tea, just lovely. Retired to room overlooking the sea for a read and relax atm, before venturing out again later for more gourmet cuisine.
Change is as good as a rest even if it isn't very MSE0 -
LIR, I know you are right... ( and Rummer) I should go and have a check out..:o but I know what they will say, lose weight, stop drinking energy drinks, you have high blood pressure etc, etc, BUT its what other things they might say/find that I worry about.:o
Davesnave... Sorry but I did have a giggle reading your post, read it like it was a carry on film:cool::p
Alfie.... So he is still prefect then??? he hasn't let his guard down and showing signs of his true self? or he didn't have a guard up in the first place?? hope you know what I mean...
Since Mr 'core' has been on the scene, your posts don't sound so stressed, and you REALLY do sound contented...:T:T
Hope he will be 'texting';):D while you are not seeing him
Well went to the monthly auction, and ending up buying a pair of Turkeys, and a trio of blue splash Cochins. Must admit I hadn't seen such a nice trio of cochins in a long while at the auctions, and I did miss having cochins.
There was also a stunning lot of wellsummers, BUT there was 4 in the lot, and they went for £20 each, and I couldn't afford them after buying the turkeys and the cochins.
Reading about wellsommers etc with Davesnave, think I will get some, for egg selling, might even get some blue egg layers too, so I can do packs of 'rainbow' 'multicolour' eggs etc...Work to live= not live to work0 -
oh lord !! content.... less stressed.... a man cant do that can he?
hes still a "core" at the mo anyway....:rotfl::rotfl:0
