Same here, in fact the wind has dropped, it was pretty breezy overnight and this morning. Calm before the storm?

Have parcelled up and printed off postage labels for the Monday packages in case leccy and/or broadband is lost.

DW safe in M/C with DD1.

That plant is deffo Little Shop of Horrors, what is it fed on?

Alf, as Rozee and CTC will have stressed, it doesnt always rain in Wales ;)

No, it doesn't always rain in Wales but, on this side of the channel there's a saying that if you can see Wales it's going to rain. If you can't see Wales it's raining already :D

As you say, rhiw, the calm before the storm.
  • Hi ALL:j:j

All quiet on the weather front at mo... was a bit blustery and rainy when we met up. I love Rozee's kiddies, they are adorable. Was really nice to meet up, the time went so quickly...will have to meet up again, when the weather isn't as bad..

Alfie... you are a star, King F has been at it again:p:D...

Rozee an Alfie, if you can just pop in and say Hello, so I know you got home safely... As you know I will worry...

This hour thing is catching up with me know, as I feel as if its bed time....

I love dogs! They are all fab.

Wolfhounds do take up room. I've lived in a small two bed house with a kennels with 17 of them  and five in a two bed bungalow. Luckily they don't move much after a couple of years, They become like those animal skin rungs, but you jump over them :rotfl:.

But I agree. Some of the smaller hounds worth considering.

Gorgeous pics :D What breed is Kiwi, LIR?

I can thoroughly recommend both our *breeds*, although our 21 month old Miniature Australian Labradoodle boy Rossetti isn't a proper breed of course (:o), but Labradoodles are well known for being good with kids. Our new addition, Raphaella, the Spanish Water Dog (4 months next week) is an absolute delight too :D Both require quite different - but still pretty time-consuming - amounts of grooming though.....but at least neither moults as such!

We have friends with two Miniature Schnauzers and they are a bit grumpy, I have to say, although beautiful dogs.......

Weather-wise, it's been raining steadily here (on the Wiltshire side of Shaftesbury towards Wilton) since around 6pm, no real gales to speak of though as yet....curled up by the woodburner!

we don't have a dog as we are both working and felt it would be unfair to have a dog at home for most of the day alone and my hubby was against paying a dog walker. After rumlet arrives hubby will be in the house most days so we have recently considered getting a dog.

In fact we were talking about it this evening and pondering when would be the right time to get a dog. Originally we were going to go for a rescue however since we are going back to having a baby/toddler in the house i think we will go for a puppy, now we just need to decided when and which breed.

Both of us have experience with dogs, me more than oh however we will need a dog that is child and small animal friendly.

Waves shyly, I have (almost) my dream, it's a detached house after 17 years of living in a terraced house with neighbours from hell, but it doesn't have a big enough garden for my liking, although my OH would disagree :D, growing up we used to keep chickens, so I'm not sure I'd want to do that again, but 'room for a pony' would be good, as would more room to grow things and a greenhouse.

LiR, Kiwi is adorable, just like a little teddy bear.

Hope Alfie is home safe and sound.

Waves shyly again, and relurks :)

Welcome Jenie! It's always lovely to have someone say they've been reading the thread for a long time and have come to say hi. We are a wonderful family of like-minders here, feel free to pitch in with opinions and thoughts, positive or negative. I think between us there are very few fields that we haven't got covered in terms of a bit of expertise

Speaking of which, who knows stuff about goats? DH has decided he doesn't object to a milky coffee made half and half with goat and Jersey milk :rotfl:I don't know much about them but it's something I may consider for the future as I'm over my previous harrowing experience with a boisterous Saanen nanny (I was only ten).

WELL THE NANNY HAS TO BE PUT IN KID, TO PROVIDE MILK , THEY NEED A HIGH WELFARE REGIME [sorry left caps on and cant be arseded to re write]
i think if your financial situation is not hot, i wouldnt recomend...:o
also if you did get to go to spain at a later date , you would have to rehome ?

Glad you made it home safe Alf.

    Welcome newbies & lurkers.

Hope youre all coping with the weather down there.

I did post a couple of days back but it disappeared & that was annoying.

Pouring down here & pouring down here & pouring down........
Must sort my lambs tomorrow - the males will be going this week. Don't feel that able with the whiplash but must be down.

Had to go into Inverness for a meetiing about the grant over payment for reed cutting - nightmare & quite depressing asI went on their advice & even filled in the forms in their office so I would of thought I got it right. Par for the course at the mo as we seem to be shoite magnets.

Await the outcome of that by post. I think the guy felt sorry for me, but they won't take the flak. If I appeal it will have to be to the land court & that would cost thousands so that's a waste of time even considering that & they know it. It's so unfair, but doesn't seem much I can do.

Free listing weekend so that kept me busy - hope I get loads of sales as I need to get my hay bought & feed.
How come it's Winter & I'm still in a caravan going mental.............?
