Our house would be filled with our dream dog with no space for us :rotfl: I am thinking of a miniature schnauzer or a small furry friendly lurcher. Something small to medium sized that likes having fun but is quite laid back and can be well trained.
Not sure when we will get a dog though as we want to time it carefully around Rumlet. Happy to wait a number of years if necessary.
I love dogs! They are all fab.
Wolfhounds do take up room. I've lived in a small two bed house with a kennels with 17 of them  and five in a two bed bungalow. Luckily they don't move much after a couple of years, They become like those animal skin rungs, but you jump over them :rotfl:.
But I agree. Some of the smaller hounds worth considering.
Cannot resist puppy pic repeats of kiwi

My poisonous plant opened today! :j

Brugmansia flower open at last! by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
Having some probs uploading pics from camera card - it wants to upload over 1000 photos!
So it's taken me hours to just get the one pic above loaded onto Flickr!
Think I'm off to bed now as bliddy frozen - OH must make me hot water bottles! I'm trying to keep the heat off (other than hot water bottles) for as long as possible. DD1 is coming up on Wed so we'll have to have heat on then for GrandKid3.
Hope that you will all be OK and not suffer from the storm that's on the way.

And most of them a good as each other...one for everybody ( there are a few I personally would like to stop breeding or see radical changes or reversals in breeding practise). The thing is, there is so much choice there really is a breed for almost every situation.
.
There are loads I'd love but will never have because I'm the wrong home, but still admire them. Same with anything really. I just love varieties of things and that there is adaptation for situation.0 -
The rain here is wild at the moment  not too windy but torrential rain. We have had no warnings so I don't think it will come to much (hopefully).
We keep looking at different breeds of dogs and our heads are spinning. Luckily we have plenty of time to think it through (years) as we would like things to settle here and for us to be fully prepared.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Maggie - One heck of a plant there. Something uncomfortably reminiscent of Little Shop of Horrors about the way the flower seems to be looking at me :rotfl:
Well, the countdown to St Jude's storm is underway.
Hope everyone has an uneventful night & keeps their power let alone their rooves & chimneys.
I'll be on the settee as usual whenever there's low pressure/gales :sad:0 -
Thank you all for letting me grumble

CTC/Alfie/Rozee Did you all have fun??
Maggie that is a very impressive flower
Dave Glad your lady wife is coming home, it would be awful if you got stuck in the chicken house :rotfl:
I have spoken great sink, it is amazing what an impact one thing can have on a room.
Jenie Hello and welcome, I look forward to hearing more about your day dream journey
Any other lurkers out there ready to take the plunge and come and join the chat??Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
That brugmansia is really something, Maggie! :j
I used to grow brugmansias back in the day when they were called datura. I never found an un-perfumed one.
Very quiet, steady rain here ATM with no indication of what's to come.
Hope Alfie makes it back soon.

Same here, in fact the wind has dropped, it was pretty breezy overnight and this morning. Calm before the storm?
Have parcelled up and printed off postage labels for the Monday packages in case leccy and/or broadband is lost.
DW safe in M/C with DD1.
That plant is deffo Little Shop of Horrors, what is it fed on?
Alf, as Rozee and CTC will have stressed, it doesnt always rain in Wales
