don't know if this goes ahead it will effect us southerners, but people in Scotland/up north might have problems

I know I was too young to actually take in what was what in the 70's etc, but does all the news lately have the feel of a winter of discontent???Work to live= not live to work0 -
..bolving...not heard that term before.
I did a bit of tidying up of a border & moved some self seeded escalonias & vertical cottoneasters? Watched butterflies sunning theirselves on a shrub I don't know the name of & loads of sparrows squabbling away & one balancing on a pampas & robbing the seeds. There's plenty of hips about for the birds as I planted a load of rogusas I snatched from a banking down the road.
The chicks house (who were all eaten the other night) - their house was broken into again last night - nothing in there but feathers, but we had shut it up. It'll keep coming back until its cleaned us out .......0 -

Picked up this behemoth from t'Bay to use with the slab replacement I need to do. There's 7 slabs on the drive which are cracked, so it's not great kerb appeal.
With a bit of luck, can recoup enough money when selling on to be cheaper than multiple periods of hire.
Plus I won't be watching the clock when working, so safer too. (Safer being a relative term with this tool...)
Gave the lawn a quick cut, I thought a week ago would be the last before winter!
I figured I wouldn't be making more trips to the recycling centre this year, so gave the car a good clean and vacuum inside, so much dirt from carrying plants and stuff from the builder yard.
Really need to get the garage cleared so the car can go inside before the frosts, so I don't end up de-icing the windows 1st thing
In the garden, most of the wallflowers have perked up, chucked a few that were obviously goners. Still have loads of bulbs to plant, am running out places to put in daffs, so may resort to putting into pots.
Am itching to extend the size of beds in the back garden next spring!
Three prints of views of Iona by S J Peploe bought off t'Bay arrived, so will be hanging in bedroom which already has blue/green soft furnishings. Was shocked by the price of frames on the high-street even with nasty plastic, so back to t'interweb for proper glass frames0 -
CTC you are absolutely right. The last thing I need is to run out of loo paper or milk in the middle of a snow storm with a baby in the house . I will just have to start adding a few extra bits to the weekly shop.
We had a lovely day out today just hubby and I which was bliss. It is so lovely walking through the park and seeing all the changing colours. The chill in the air was very refreshing.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
