Well I saw a wild goat the other week which is way too early & yes, the geese were early. But the deer are not rutting - well I haven't heard any as yet. But we have to try & prepare soon.
The ground source heat pumps are a very expensive thing & I don't think they will be viable, nor the wood pellet stoves - just another gadget when really ordinary wood will surfice & the price will go up but not as much as the pellets will.
We always say that insulation, insulation is the way to go, but you do need air circulation especially if you have an open fire or wood burner.
People do tend to waste an awful lot of everything - take energy & food & alsorts for granted. You have to become mindful of everything that you use & generate.
We did live a while off grid - big windmill. It was expensive - very expensive when it blew down in a gale. These things go wrong & no one has calculated into the equations the life expectancy of some of the new technologies. They won't last forever. They will go wrong.
Beautiful day here - shame I feel like shoite.0 -

For those with the full face bunged up cold, towel over head & head over steam usually helps a bit.
All the pills I'm on for the bronchitis have helped the nose but I'm still coughing well particularly first thing in the morning having laid down.
Never mind, getting there
We would never get out in a bad winter if we didn't have the beastie, CTC. It also means less trips to town as it holds much more. Despite the cost of petrol that tends to even the economics out. Less shopping always equals less impulse buying :money:
Haven't heard the stags bolving here, either, choille. It wasn't until you said that I even thought about it.
There's a whole family of pied wagtails playing in the sun on our terraces. They're completely loopy :rotfl: I think that, maybe, the insects have made for the painted walls of the terraces which reflect light & keep warm.0
