One of those green manures is the mustard we used to have here in the thousands. The previous owners planted it and omitted to dig in.
I reckon the life cycle from germination to seeding is about a month, so you need your wits about you.
We still have quite a few come up wherever we disturb the ground, but if they get to flower, I take it personally.

Lovely day here so felt guilty enough to drag myself about & potter. Pottering is good when you have a thick cold, makes you feel useful....ish & all that fresh air is better than sneezing & coughing in a van.
Heard what I thought was the pompous neighbour barking away at the top of his voice on the phone - he has one of those walk about ones & uses it outside. He's quite a distance off bit like a Shakesperian actor his voice fair travels.....and grates.
Muttering away to myself about the silly beggar I realised the voice was coming from somewhere down by the Loch. Walked up the croft for a better view & saw that there's a fricking massive warship there! So I mistook a warship for my neighbour!0 -

Alfie, you have no idea how lucky we've been changing light bulbs, the foot of the thing we change light bulbs on has been right over a hole!

Choille:eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: what the heck was a warship doing by your place... does it happen regular??:D
I can sympathise with you, as I have had this cold thing for what seems like ages, just cant shift it, I feel I want to rip my face off, or hit myself in the face with a baseball batWork to live= not live to work0 -
It seems to happen about once a year. There's a big naval base a few miles down the road & when they are thinking of invading somewhere they tend to play at games on the Loch. There's been quite a few helipocters about.
There was little mini boats scudding about last year - must have had a whale of a time. .....all at the tax payers expense....not surprised they've flogged off Royal Mail......on the cheap.
Commisserableations on the cold - it's a thick 'un. Almost cracked a rib sneezing & frightened the ole cat - who is stone deaf.0 -

Lol, that's interesting timing with exercises round here ATM too. Was beautiful in the sky last evening, like fireworks.0 -
On the warship, they must of been using a megaphone - it was so loud & clear the plummy tones reverberating off the mountains - surreal.
LIR - they must be gonna bomb some poor country soon...another one.0 -
