Another nice day in Glasgow, can't last though (:() so assembled the coldframe (£93 of t'Bay) ready for overwintering the perennials in trays. The orange crate contains potted-up lilies in their 2nd season grown from bulbils - may get a flower next year?
Am thinking about some polystyrene sheet for the plants to sit on so the concrete slabs don't suck all the heat out.0 -
Hi All
Choille, I really do feel for you, Hope whatever has killed your chooks, either don't come back, or its gets IT if it does..
Well that it 4 day craft event is now over:beer::beer: but we are staying here, and will travel home tomorrow...
We were panicking, and just wanted to try and re-coup some money back, BUT we did make a reasonable profit:T:T, and came away with constructive ideas, and a rag rugging website, giving me some ideas on some textile kits for rag rugging, and she would put a link to us, so something I can work on.
We need to work, work, work, and work to get extra money in... and I am soooooo prepared to work my boobies off to get the ranch done/completed next year..:D:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
CTC - good that you feel that some rewards have come from the 4 days.
I was in a shop that I like that does great recycling/upcycling stuff & they has massive 'balls of tweed' & super huge crochet hook & knitting needles that you used to knit or crochet the tweed strands into rugs, cushions, bags etc. Never seen owt like it before.
Thanks for the condolences. We seem to have lost loads over the years. That's what happens if you live in a wood I suppose!0 -
I must've passed you twice today CTC!
I took DD2, her aquarium of tropical fish and three chests of drawers over to Bournemouth. Both DDs have been here for a week's R&R.
We only had a single fish fatality, and that was the one that jumped out of the net and fell on the floor!:o Another, an odd looking thing we call 'Grumpy' is an old hand at moving, having done it twice before.0 -

CTC, well done on the profits :T
Alf, forgetting the bath is filling is easy done when you're distracted. Happened to DD1 at weekend when they stayed, luckily DW noticed in time. Your Bay stuff looks good! Used up our allowance of 200 BIN listings yesterday and 13 parcels going out today, busy busy!
GSs picked a load of our cox apples, as well as the last two pears, and had a crumble as a treat when they got back home. Youngest is just about the naughtiest toddler you can imagine, so much energy, so much mischief and an angelic smile to break your heart. Love him0 -
Alfie, I do that with the running water at the kitchen sink:cool::cool:
Hope your headache has gone now, and as you say, today is another day
Thanks Rhiwie... yes it turned out ok, considering we expected to cancel going, but they said we still had to pay, so we were going with the expectations, of trying to do financial damage limitations... so coming away with a few hundred quid profit... was brill:j:j
Hubby is still sleeping, so we will prob toddle off about mid morning..busy week in work, as,as soon as I get into work tomorrow I have to clear my mess up and start getting my vintage clothes ready for the sale on Saturday.
After the weekend, I will be back to baying again... as I haven't sent any parcels out for weeks, and I have an online business account:cool:Work to live= not live to work0 -
I find I'm not as 'on the ball' as I was alfie, so I use a 4 section timer for some things, like the immersion heater, which can be expensive if forgotten.
I keep timer 1 set permanently for my morning egg!
Great that you did more than expected, CTC!
We have a Vorwerk that's trying to crow. I'm going to keep a close eye!0 -
Full of cold.
Mobility lawn mower has to have the doctor out again. Nearly time for its annual service, but was very annoying, the grass is just starting to look not so bad through regular mowing and I wanted the clippings for mulch.......0 -
