Swings & roundabouts rozee, but you are making progress!

It was the steel beams that began to scare us about going upstairs. That and turning a non-structural inside wall into a load bearer.

Muggins here did the trial holes. The results, though within tolerances, didn't exceed them by the amount I'd have liked, so that was another ???

Here, we now want to remove a steel beam, but we may have to leave it in situ if it saves a couple of £k. Always difficult choices!
Our load bearing wall isn't load bearing enough once you add the extension, the roof insulation, two bathrooms and the dormer. I'm sort of slightly doo lally about the extra cost at the moment, so enamoured am I by how lovely it will finally be.

CTC, neighbour is a widow, hubby died of cancer and was generous in supporting cancer charities. DD2 and her hubby work in cancer research so that's where the sale proceeds will go. This le creuset is old and yellow, bit like me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Fair comment, pitty it was yellow, as if it was burnt orange, then I would have bought/bid on it.

We didn't bother staying up the ranch tonight, but youngest is up there in the caravan with his mates...

I am finding it is close tonight... weather has been pants today, not looking good for tomorrow for alot of us..

Right going to pinch hubby's nuts:D

Thanks all for the good wishes about Wee Mon. I feel I've lost a best friend which in a way I have. He still makes me smile when I think of all the stuff we got up to. I will definately get another tabby some day as they are so clever.
I have another rather elderly cat whose getting rather frail, but considering he's doing well.
Dave you mention your cat falling - that sounds a bit alarming.
Your eggs sound too cheap really especially if they're free range. I charge £2.90 @ doz but some are really massive eggs, some not. I get £2.30 @ doz for my surplus that don't sell at the gate - I take them to a local-ish restuarant & they rave about them - so that worked out well.

Ferret Keeper - my best & longish relationships are with animals too - which is a bit anti-social of me I suppose.

It's free listing again so that keeps me busy, but it seems rather quiet of late.

Must get some sleep too. It's been rainingg most of the day & very midgy again, but got the holiday house change over done & had a long shower & caught up with my own washing, so been active.

I've kept so few pets, Choille, as I get so attached. I've never been one for "replacing" them. It would be like attempting to replace a family member :) Not to say that I won't have more pets. Just that I need to be ready. Haven't had a pet since 2002. When I flew off to Aus to follow my heart, my friend was looking after my cat for a month. It escaped and, being a one-eyed Siamese and a bit dim, didn't do well. Her kidneys were failing by the time she was found and she was put down before I got back. Not good.

    I don't know how I'll fare with the livestock. I don't think I will view them quite the same, but who knows? However, I'm already worrying about how I'll deal with the loss of the next dog when we finally get one. I'm okay if they die due to old age, but if they pop their clogs before their time, I feel so bad. Bonkers :}

Speaking of eBay, no reply from the breeder yet regarding the huge disparity between the eggs shown there and what he sent us.

How long should we give him before assuming he doesn't want to comment? I would have thought 48 hours enough for a quick reply.

I won't feedback anyway until we candle them, though I guess it may be difficult to do that. Might have to wait to see what gives with hatching.

FK aren't the old French Petit Godin stoves good for sticks and smaller logs?

Had to google that Dave, they are gorgeous looking, right up my street! A tad pricey but what the hell, one day.

What is it that makes them so good for burning sticks? Not that it matters being so beautiful!

    Had a surprise this morning:

    2rxw39t.jpg

A bouncing baby girl, she was up and about, licked dry and feeding when I got there - got up at 5am to try and catch the action but no!

Dave, 48 hours and no response, thats not good at all!

CTC, we've been quietish this week on Ebay after a super few weeks. But we specialise in china and collectables rather than clothing unless its going cheap at auction. Just got positive feedback on 2 plates shipped to Oz, always nerve wracking at £250 apiece .

Lir, here's some photos of the Le Creuset, pm me and if you want it I'll send it to you, just make a donation to Cancer Research UK for what you think its worth. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4. It's just over 5 pint capacity

Just had lunch from the garden, a salad sarnie and a single ripe strawberry. So its either lose weight or grow better :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    EDIT: FK, just lovely!

well at least it quiet in general then Rhiwie..

Think I might try and do some bundles of school uniforms.. will nt get loads of money, but at least it might help drip feed my account

Doing some batch cooking today for the freezer, mince and onion style caserole and mash pots and carrots. Might do a mince curry and rice too, if the mince will stretch ( I allways add oats to stretch mince dishes)

got 2 smaller port leg joints defrosting, so pork dinner tonight, and hopefully can eek it out for dinner and tea meals for a few days..

I had to buy 'proper priced' veg yesturday:eek: the price on potatoes:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Have done nothing in this garden this year, so its just a garden of weeds etc:cool: BUT when I passed it to go to the greenhouse I noticed 2 rows of potatoes growing:rotfl: it must be the tiddlers that I missed last year:D
