CTC,
It's going to be the 'main' bathroom for the house. There are a few bathrooms planned, but the other guest rooms are all just going to have showers/wet rooms I think (water conservation plus space) so we felt offering one room with a decent bath (though its not immense ) as the 'family' bathroom was important. Also, room enough for people to chat while littlies bathe etc.....because when hopefully nieces and nephews come we don't want to miss a minute of kid-Dom....
(Oh, actually, we are having a bath in the bathroom for our bedroom too..but that's some way down the line, especially as it looks like its going to have to be an office with a phone line for a beaurocratic reason, despite us having a perfectly good study we use as an office for the business (this fails the beaurocratic tick box as it has two doors.....seriously.....nuts). The bathroom is the only room that doesn't.0 -
CTC If there is a Homebase near you keep an eye on their strawberry plants and I buy mine there at the end of each seasons for pennies. I think last year I got 18 for £1.50 and they have grown really well. In fact I get loads of their bargain plants and 9 times out of ten they thrive
Hubby and I did a tour of the garden last night and we are both in agreement about where we want to take things which is nice as we usually have very different ideas. I think we are going to do a dump run today and try to clear out some of the beds although it looks as if it is going to rainI am going to have to get myself out and working in the evenings I think.

The rain went off and we scooted out to clear up the rubbish in the garden and we finally cleared out the potting shed :j
My hubby is a bit of a wood hoarder and I finally got him to part with the bits that will not serve any useful purpose and we cleared out the previous owners various pots of paints and chemicals that have been in the shed since long before we moved in. Unfortunately as well as a few holes in the roof of the shed, there is also a huge part of the floor that has rotted away so hubby has said that he will fix it.
As a bit of a bonus we also found a few plastic storage boxes that we had forgotten about which will be ideal for storage in Rumlets room. There was also a tub of paint that we can use to brighten up the tiles in the kitchen.
I filled a garden bin with hedge and tree cuttings which has tidied up another corner. We still need to get the grass cut and the beds are all over grown but it is looking much better and at least we know what we are working towards. Now the car is full to bursting with things for the dump and after a cuppa and a biscuit that is where we are heading

Picked up a load of spring onions today, and I know the piggies don't like them, any sugestions on what I can make with them??

CTC just use them where you would use onions or leeks, maybe make a batch of soup if you have spare veggies about.
I am just about to make a batch of carrot and coconut soupTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

been delving in the darkest corners of the cupboard:cool::rotfl: and spotted a squeesy unopened bottle of sweet chilli sauce, soooo could make sweet chilli noodles, with chicken, 'spring onions' grated carrot, and what ever else I can find to throw in..
So chicken dinner tonight,
chicken and coleslaw rolls for work tomorrow,
sweet chilli, chicken noodles tomorrow night,
Chicken and stuffing rolls for work, Tuesday.
Chicken and left over veg Curry and pot wedges Tuesday night
'might' be able to squeeze something else out of it for another meal.
Dreg ends/skin etc for the cats:D

I found the Recipe on The Quince Tree which is one of my favourite blogs and it is well worth looking through her recipe section for good ideas.
Frugal Queen also caught my eye today as she was talking about bulk buying from butchers and I have been looking to see if there is a similar place near me.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
