Surfacing for air after a far too busy day :(

Hectic preview and research, parcellings and postings (Alf, parcel on way via RM) with MIL needing medical treatment again and DS2 being very problematical. Upsetting to have problems with both children and parents at the same time.

Too tired to cook tonight so had sarnies :o

Hope tomorrow is productive buying, yesterday we packed 15 boxes to go to auction which we'll deliver Thursday so we'll have room for new stuff.

Thinking already of seed saving as retailers prices seemed to shoot up this year

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time, we are here if we can help in any way.

As for seeds is there anything in particular that you are looking for as I have more seeds than I could use in a life time and would be happy to send some your way :D

I will miss Alan Romans as I used to order a lot of seeds from him as they were such good value and in ideal amounts for the space we have :(

I'll very more feral cats. :D.

I think I might do that any way this autumn. I dunno, I'd rather have lots of house cats that hunt, but I think a trio of ferals in the feed room might be a way forward. :(

Sorry, hazel doesn't usually go from cuttings, unless they're Irishman's ( i.e. with a bit of root attached) so you'd be on a hiding for nothing trying to do them CTC. :(

It's usually easy enough to take side growths with roots from coppiced trees in the autumn. That's how I increased mine, but I have a feeling the cob nuts are a bit wimpier than the run of the mill trees here, so I've used seedlings on the field hedges. Mind you, someone's big dog sat on the wee cobs when they tied him up by them () so it's hardly a fair comparison.

If you like, I could detach some bits and send them to you in November, lir. :)

LIR - sorry your consultant is dismissive. That's bad. I now stick with the one GP who knows me well & actually did mention he thought it may be Crohns or colitis & got me referred to hospital. The male nurse who is a great guy is at the end of a phone, but I've been well, am in remission apart from a couple of blips.

But it does sound pretty awful for you with that attitude of theirs. It's not on at all.
I start some medical research thing next week & it's about stress & the impact. Most of the stress was caused by the actual GPs I was seeing at the time!

    In work by 7am this morning:eek::eek:( I suggested it):D
Went to see a job yesterday, an we have just doubled our work load for a few weeks:eek::eek::eek: so talking of manic will be an understatement.. In reality it should be at least 2 new staff, BUT will try and manage with just one, to get the benefit financially with the extra work.

you could feel a bit of a chill in the air last night..

right catch you all later ( when I am having a skive in work:p)

Alexelisey - you have an Exotic Shorthair? Gorgeous - we had a Shaded Silver male (Libby - long story, but the breeder erroneously believed he was a she so we called him Liberty Lily :o) - but unfortunately he passed away at only three years old :( I love both Persians and Exotics and would love another, but again don't think it would be fair to bring more furries into this building site, lol!

Phoebe, please call me Alex as it's easier to type :)

Our ES is a red tabby called Fudge. Our last Persian (Elisey, called Misty) was lilac and imported from Russia to stand at stud, until we got him aged 4, but he wasn't with us as long as we'd have liked :( Before that, we started with a 12 week old kitten, a black Persian who was the same as your Libby! I named "her" Velveteden so it wasn't too bad name-wise when the vet told us "we can't spay your cat, it's a boy" although it's always a shock and I still remember our voices when given the news :rotfl:Eden was very much loved and in his 16 years with us went to the in-laws on a regular basis for Christmas - they lived in Hereford, a four hour car journey each way. But he wasn't as well travelled as Misty!

I'm going to collect a flock of Ameracauna today if they're still available. Does anyone have any thoughts on a flock of 6 birds, 5 hens and a !!!!, aged 2 to 3 years old? Might they be too old? They are only £35 and the owner has some personal issues so needs to get rid of her poultry.

    They lay blue eggs :)

    Edit: !!! equals male chicken

They are sweet.. Mine are quite flighty, but fun birds. I think you will enjoy them.
