Ours never did this but then the configuration of their run didn't allow for it. What they did do which always amused me is to go for whatever I threw down last. So if I threw down a few handfuls of corn (or spoons of sweetcorn for a treat, or even better spaghetti) then they would stop eating the previous bit I had thrown down and rush to the latest handful. They always seemed worried that they were going to miss out on something better if they didn't rush to the latest offering. :rotfl:

The poly-tunnel is very impressive - do you do any companion planting to deter pests? I have planted some marigolds around the tomatoes and it seems to have worked so far, but it may just be luck!

Love the photo of the chucks :D

Yes spaghetti is my favourite to watch. I'm afraid I 'accidentally' do too much for us on most occasions!:rotfl:

No great companion planting in the poly, just a few marigolds, but then no real problems with pests once the insect world gets going in late spring. It's just the blackbird really.

Speaking of insects, we have a wasp nest in one of our bird boxes fixed to the barn. As wasps do about as much good as harm, and as there are going to be few plums this year, I've allowed this. I don't think the sparrows are too pleased about it though! :o

stayed up the ranch yesterday/last night Didn't get anything done as it was pisistantly raining... and not just showers, hammering it down...I came home, hubby was going to burn a little bit of rubbish, and the whole lot of old wood has caught:rotfl:, so he is still up there manning the fire, in this rain:rotfl::rotfl:

Davesanve...I haven't noticed any unusual behaviour with our chickens or pigs etc, BUT def creatures of habbit, and timming..

Love the pics of the inside of the poly tunnels:T:T

Well my late planted runner beans are looking rather sick, so I might just give up on them, an whip them out, and plant something else..

FK..... what did the G. old spots weight out at? and what was the feedback???

Still very tempted to get some Duroc's ..

Decided not to mate the girlies now, we are going to wait until Christmas/new year time, as otherwise we will have little piglets arround Christmas time...

We have the old long concrete base of the old battery chicken sheds, so we are going to build some block buildings, so we will have a proper farrowing/ nursery area.. and also a sick bay for anything that needs to be on their own, or for piglets that need an extra bit of tlc etc..

Alfie... that woul be cool, thanks, how is your father? mother ok?

LIR ..def keep it an put it in a spare room, don't let the incident of your toes put you off the chair,

Dave you have some very funny chickens :D

Someone today was talking about taking up horse riding and tonight I had a wee look at local riding schools and their lesson prices, one of them was £45 for an hours private lesson :eek::eek: I had hoped to return to riding as some point but at those prices it looks like it is never going to happen.

That's because I only show you the good bits! :rotfl:

We have an area behind the rubbishy wood barns where there are 40 old tyres, a couple of sinks, rusty iron and loads of part-used sheep netting. :o

The barns themselves will never look anything better than 'useful.'
