Galaxy S4 v Xperia Z?

My vote is for the S4 also - Samsung have tended to offer better long term support for their phones than Sony Xperia of late.0

HTC One has superb built quality , stunning looks and matches the S4 in most departments.
The only negative thing is that there is no microSD card slot but 32gb internal memory will be sufficient for most people.
A lot has been written about the camera but it beats the rest hands down in low light situations and is not far behind in briight light.
I have had an iphone 5 and an S3 and now the HTC One and can honestly I prefer it over the others.
Thanks, but I'm definitely going with either the S4 or Xperia Z... and I do need a microSD card slot - me and my partner tend to swap them about and listen to each other's music that way!LBM: March 2012

That is the one thing putting me off the Xperia Z... I do like having a spare battery for my phone with me...
What else would you say pushes the S4 over the edge though?
The superamoled screen is far better than xperia z screen. I have read reviews saying that the xperia z has very poor viewing angles. Also with the s4 you get all the software feature like smart say, smart scroll, air gestures, air view.. etc.
It has a faster processor.
The only reason to get the z is its waterproof.
Gsmarena says the following:
Sony Xperia Z over Samsung Galaxy S4:
IP57 dust and water protection
Glass-covered body looks way superior
FM radio
HDR video
Already available, slightly cheaper
TV-out via MHL link works with most of the available MHL HDMI cables
Samsung Galaxy S4 over Sony Xperia Z:
Screen has superior color reproduction, contrast and viewing angles, works with gloves and air gestures
Newer chipset with higher clock speed
Dual-video recording, can shoot 9.6MP stills while recording video, 60MP panoramas
Infra-red blaster
Android 4.2.2 out of box
Multi-window multitasking
Additional sensors (barometer, thermometer, hygroscope)
Air gestures; Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll

I quite like the waterproof feature of of the Xperia Z, but i found when scrolling screens and opening menus it was very rough looking and juddery.
The thing most people like about the iPhone is how smooth the menus and OS feels. The S3 and upwards with the latest updates, have super smooth scrolling (unless you have power saver on) and once you get used to that the roughness from the Z can be annoying. All your base are belong to us.0 -

Actually the Z is more likely to have the accurate colour reproduction, AMOLED screens (generally) are hugely over-saturated.0 -
just for anyone interested theres an app u can download to use the old t9 keyboard its perfect keyboard on android works fine on my motorolaWhat goes around-comes around0

I have the s3 and i had a play with the s4 to be honest i couldn't see a great deal of different i know there is and i would still prefer the s4 over the Xperia Z
like most people have said i don't like the fault of not being able to take the battery out
Also if the z was to freeze you have to hold on to a button until it reboots its self trouble is that can take a while some times were on my s3 you just take the battery out and put it back in and away you go.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

It takes about 10 secs to force a reboot on a phone with a non-removable battery (just keep power held). Not too different from removing a back cover, pulling the battery, putting it back, then replacing the back cover.0
