Galaxy S4 v Xperia Z?
Hi all
I'm in the very fortunate position of being able to choose the next phone I get from work.
I've narrowed it down to the Galaxy S4 and the Sony Xperia Z... reviews seem to put them fairly level, and I can't decide! I've currently got the Galaxy S2 and love it, but my sister has an Xperia and that's really nice too...
Any thoughts?!
Thanks
Polly

They're both very good, it's just going to come down to what you prefer.
The S4 does have slightly better hardware, I'd prefer to use the Z since it has on screen buttons (the way Android is supposed to be, damned OEMs).0 -
Yeah, I figured it was just down to me to make a decision! But wanted to check nobody had any awful experiences of either...! I'm more tempted by the Xperia Z I think... especially as there's a purple versionLBM: March 2012

I just got the Samsung s4. Its amazing, much better than the Xperia Z. The best thing is the battery. You can change it, unlike the Xperia Z which has a built in battery.0 -

That is the one thing putting me off the Xperia Z... I do like having a spare battery for my phone with me...
What else would you say pushes the S4 over the edge though?LBM: March 2012

Instead of a spare battery you could always just get an external battery pack, that has the added bonus of being compatible with future phones.0

I didn't even know such a thing existed! That's worth looking into...LBM: March 2012

I had an SII but hated it following the upgrade to jelly bean.
I looked at the S4 but it had the same thing and went with the Z.
I love it - better camera but what did it for me was the texting (don't use qwerty) but the old way and although really sad and simple, the bonus was taking off predictive text was a button on the screen instead of having to go to the settings each time to turn it off and on....sad I know!
It's waterproof as well which can be useful.
And like the S4, can have an SD card so helpful with memory for pics/music.
I didn't realise about the battery though. There are lots of people who have issues with battery life, but I haven't had a problem with mine....this is on the Z.
I recommend the Z.0 -
Yes, my SII has been annoying me a little since the Jelly Bean update... ooh, I'm very tempted by the Xperia...!LBM: March 2012

HTC One has superb built quality , stunning looks and matches the S4 in most departments.
The only negative thing is that there is no microSD card slot but 32gb internal memory will be sufficient for most people.
A lot has been written about the camera but it beats the rest hands down in low light situations and is not far behind in briight light.
I have had an iphone 5 and an S3 and now the HTC One and can honestly I prefer it over the others.0 -
Latest PC Pro magazine compares S4 and Xperia Z amongst others .
