Leave them be, weighing them is of no benefit to the mother, otherwise she'll take them and hide them elsewhere, somewhere she thinks you cannot get to them.
Couldn't agree more. Don't interfer unless necessary (eg, they're not feeding, you have reason to believe they need vet treatment.)0 -
Weighing puppies or kittens can be a valuable thing to do.
Scales will show a drop in weight much much earlier than judging it by eye, you can also make sure they are all putting weight on and give any ones that aren't, an extra help to get a good teat.0 -
There is only 2 of them - they will feed well0

Two is normal - my cat (before she became my cat, she is neutered now) has had two litters, her first litter was two kittens, the second litter three kittens. She had them in the same year, got preggers very quickly after the first lot, the little tart!
Personally I wouldn't weigh the kittens, there is no point, their mother is doing everything they need done for them at this stage in their lives.
You'll have an absolutely blast when they are about eight weeks old, it's like they are on speed at that age, into everything, and so incredibly cute. I bet you keep one.

Well, today is my birthday...and my cat has STILL not had her babies. She is HUGE. We are so tired of waiting!!
can cats go overdue?I know usual gestation is 9 weeks, and if our calculations are correct she is now 9 weeks 3days!
She is only eating small amounts of food, think I will take her to the vet if she not had them by Thursday. she did start suckling the bed we made her, but NOTHING since.
Great news about your 2 new babies Spartacus!!0 -
Different websites say different things-one says 56-72 days, others say 58-65 days!0

I'm a bit worried as boo hasn't had a wee since last night.
She had a poo sometime in the night.
Her food water and litter tray are about a meter away and her kittens are still in her sight if she uses it.
She has eaten a fair bit.ADVISE-"I advise you get help"
