We are going to go on holiday...we just wanted to voice a concern of ours...thats all...looking for reassurances I understand you simply cannot give...other than to do what you have all done and make me realise I am being stupid.
We will go...and I will do what I always do...look after them.
Thank you all for your comments.0 -
Have a really nice holiday, I'm sure you will.0

I guess its not Turkey so much ..more somewhere we dont know.
Not sure how old your kids are but do you ever let them out of your sight?
what about when they go off to UNi or holiday by themselves, or to local night club, shopping in town etc etc
I know its easy to say but stop worrying about what could happen otherwise you will end up a nervous wreck0 -
Don't let fear ruin how you live your lives. Just go on holiday and have a wonderful holiday...0

Exactly, Turkey is brilliant. If you are scared, then go to Margate or maybe Scarborough, they are great especially on a rainy day.We are going to go on holiday...we just wanted to voice a concern of ours...thats all...looking for reassurances I understand you simply cannot give...other than to do what you have all done and make me realise I am being stupid.

The odds of this fear materialising in reality are minuscule. It may well be worth asking your doctor for a referral for talking therapy as this may help you to stop becoming an over-protective parent. That's not to say you're bonkers, but while bad things can and do happen the scenario you fear most is about as likely as winning an unshared Euromillions jackpot.
Get a holiday booked and relax when you get there.0 -

Hello all. I appologize for what will no doubt sound extreme to you all but we are about to book our first holiday abroad...ever.
We are thinking of going to Bodrum in Turkey ...but we have a deep set fear. We are terrified...and please understand we are NOT exaggerating when we say that...terrified of having one of our boys...our beautiful blonde boys snatched or somehow taken from us ...while we are sleeping or..maybe in the hussle and bussle of some market of WHATEVER !!
We have just discussed it again tonight...just now...and we are seriously considering not going at all now.
To be honest I dont know why I am posting this because what can you say ? nothing is there ...cos it could happen couldnt it...however careful you are....it happens :-( strange place..strangers...nothing but strangers.
I dont know how to finish this thread....I cant bare the thought of it :-(

I guess its not Turkey so much ..more somewhere we dont know.
I have taken my kids to 32 countries and to corners of places where we have been the only tourists to have ever visit, from to being the only tourists for miles.
My daughter is a red head and my son blonde and we have garnered serious attention in places like China and parts of India and the Far East.
The only problem I have ever had was in Bangkok where some bloke tried dragging my son into a car.
Turkey didn't even raise a single eye brow and honestly, I wouldn't spend another second thinking about it.

Look, given your concerns you're not going to let them wander too far and certainly not out of sight.
You're hardly likely to leave them in the bungalow or whatever whilst you enjoy yourselves at a bar are you?
The risk is so incredibly low, it would hardly register on a scale
Avoid places like busy markets if they make you anxious, they only sell junk in most of them anyway.0 -
This is your third thread on the supposed Turkey holiday. Why not keep everything together?travelover0
