No one will want the 13 yr old, that's for sure0 -
I guess its not Turkey so much ..more somewhere we dont know.
There are quite a few places in foreign countries that will be quite British if you know what I mean. Like certain parts of Spain. Maybe that would be a better idea for your first holiday? You could go abroad, have nice whether, but still feel a bit more comfortable regarding customs / language barriers etc.
As others have said, your children could be kidnapped anywhere, not just Turkey. Although the current civil unrest in the country might be a reason to consider somewhere else as a holiday destination.0 -
if your that scared why not go to one of those all inclusive compounds that have security guards on the gates and barriers ect Somewhere like Egypt is like this
The only people that can enter are guests ( with the all inclusive bands ) and tradespeople etc
Everytime I've been there they always want to see your all inclusive bands to ensure your allowed in the hotel
For Turkey though i would recommend Letoonia Hotel near Fethyie
There is only 2 ways to get to the complex or leave...
either along a long winding country lane and again you have to get past the guard house/security and the the other by boat
You really don't have to leave the complex unless you want to as you have everything to hand
Failing that stay at home and don't leave the house0 -
Don't go. I kinda understand your concern as there is a lot of scaremongering in the media.
I am very blonde and have travelled a fair bit, been gawked at in some of the Asian countries but that's to be expected.
Go somewhere you feel more comfortable with so you can relax and enjoy your holiday...and let your kids enjoy theirs0 -
If you're going to stay awake all night worrying why not put the eldest two in a bedroom with your husband and you sleep in the same room as the younger two or vice versa?0

As others have already pointed out though, the OP isn't taking his family to back of beyond - he's considering 2 very popular resorts, in a country where they already have some kids with blonde hair and blue eyes. Seeing blonde kids in Turkish resorts is not at all unusual, and no-one there will give them a second glance.0 -
I'd suggest Sweden - blonds aren't special there!0

statistically you are more likely to be injured or killed in the car on the way to the airport , remember around 3000 people were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack , which we consider terrible , and yet around the same number of people are killed on uk roads every year which unless it involves someone you know means that people get in to their car without a thought that they might not make it to the destination ,0 -
Is it ONLY Turkey you have this fear with, or holidays in general?
If it is only Turkey, then pick somewhere else. Not Egypt either if you have these worries though!
Ha ha! They like blondes in Egypt. Mrs G's brunette friend went into a sulk when the natives offered to trade fewer camels for her than Mrs G.0
