Scared for our children

Hello all. I appologize for what will no doubt sound extreme to you all but we are about to book our first holiday abroad...ever.
We are thinking of going to Bodrum in Turkey ...but we have a deep set fear. We are terrified...and please understand we are NOT exaggerating when we say that...terrified of having one of our boys...our beautiful blonde boys snatched or somehow taken from us ...while we are sleeping or..maybe in the hussle and bussle of some market of WHATEVER !!
We have just discussed it again tonight...just now...and we are seriously considering not going at all now.
To be honest I dont know why I am posting this because what can you say ? nothing is there ...cos it could happen couldnt it...however careful you are....it happens :-( strange place..strangers...nothing but strangers.
I dont know how to finish this thread....I cant bare the thought of it :-(

Yes it could happen, but then it could also happen on your local high street, on the way to school, or even at home.

If you are not going to be comfortable there, why not pick somewhere else?

Your boys are statistically are more in danger from someone you/they know. Relax, I've been to Turkey a couple of times and didn't see or hear of anyone's kids being harmed. If you were to go to Saltcoats there would be lots of strangers around with strange accents.

I know this is very true yes... we understand that. Just cant get the thought of the few stories we know about over the years...and although there are only a few...I cant imagine how they feel.
I know we sound stupid....and I am sorry for such a weird post.
Somewhere different maybe yes. millions of people go on holiday every year I know...I dunno.
Please dont worry about replying to this thread ...Its silly and pointless.
    Thank you

Look if you're that concerned then please don't go.

A holiday is meant to relax you not stress you out beyond belief.

Maybe you need to talk this through with a professional.

Did this irrational fear not occur to you before you booked a holiday to Turkey?

Oh, they do have blonde children there too, your children won't be the only ones.

Why choose to go to Turkey if the idea scares you so much? Go somewhere else and enjoy it.
