                    Hey
So on Thursday I completed our mortgage application. We need to send back some documents such as a reference from my partner.
Will the valuation and survey happen before I send my documents back?

valuation was done before full application0

For me the valuation was booked 3 or 4 days after I submitted the full application and documents. It actually took place a couple of weeks later. Warning: Nationwide's preferred surveyors, Countrywide, are notoriously slow.0

Nationwide only go to valuation once they are happy with all supporting documentationHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Hmmm when I did the application she said she was going to send the details to Countrywide and the valuation would take place shortly after. Didnt say anything about needing to wait for the documents we need to send.Oxfordmark

They instructed the valuation for us the same day we submitted our formal application (a Friday) and it was then booked the following Wednesday.
Unfortunately, because Countrywide doesn't have much coverage in the area we're buying, our valuation date was three weeks away. Such a pain.0

I may be wrong about direct applications but for broker applications they are one of the ones we don't have to 'hold back'. I quote from a message from our BDM just a couple of days ago when I was actually trying to push for an early valuation ....
"itsbeen scored and accepted, once underwritten the val will be instructed"
.... generally the way we always recommend so that client is not spending any more money than necessary until we are as confident as possible of successful application.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Wrong! Maybe as a general rule but They can still ask for documents after the valuation, as they did in my case.An opinion is just that..... An opinion0

Out of fairness - at no time did I say that additional documents can't be asked for at any time right up to offer BUT they do not go to valuation until they have received the initial document request and underwritten those (which was the original question).Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. oxfordmark - is there any chance you could keep your case in one thread? As it's all related to this one Nationwide application it would be easier to deal with everything together, rather than ad-hoc threads about each individual point about the application.
