  • hey WABL!!! thank you :)

I'm hoping this months total will be even higher! Fingers crossed!!

The OH and I have been having one of our candid chats this weekend and he is all behind the debt-busting and even has said he doesn't mind the pasta and sauce combos that are sure to be coming up close on the horizon this month! hehe! we'll see how long he sticks to that one!!

all the tidying has been done today of the flat and I am feeling pooped now, just got a chicken going in the oven and just got to prep some potatoes to go with it, we're having a small mac and cheese and a small red cabbage mix I got out the freezer which i prepped a month ago to eat alongside, mmmm getting hungry thinking about it and then I can finally relax for the rest of this brief evening before the drudgery starts again! where did the weekend go???????????

the 4-day working week keeps screaming out at me and once the debts are busted it may be a very realistic possibility!!!

    xx

I just wrote this on NSK's April challenge but I think it's prudent to have my goals for April up here as well so I can keep an eye on how well I'm doing!

It's also quite candid so I thought it might give some insight into our situation a bit better for those long-time readers and any newbie visitors - so here goes! :)
how i got here: stupidity! Plain and simple! moved house, got a new job - they were incompatible and meant a ridiculous amount got spent on travelling that I couldn't sustain and OH lost his job which pushed us even deeper into the mire. Also - credit and Payday Loans! The bane of my life and my lovely OH who has never been good with money saw it as a green light for us to spend, spend, spend.

The result? hardship, suffering - mentally and physically, and going back to zero to start again.

But now, with greater determination than ever I am back and I'm going to beat this and I am NEVER going to owe anyone anything ever again!!!!!!!!!

    Goals for April:
    • 19 NSDs!
    • Pay off 1700 debt (including a whole credit card in one go! F&F offer)
    • Spend only the 170 we have this month for any and all spends.
    • Enjoy my birthday at the end of the month without spending anything!
    • NO giving in to the OH with his pizza addiction from the 'Papa'
    • Enjoy what I have and the opportunity I have been given to sort myself out and start again

    That's me!

PS - debt free day: August 2014 (hopefully)

That is a GREAT post C-R! If I had to pick the one person from this whole forum who I thought would succeed, it would be you - hands down, no question. I have always thought you were a force to be reckoned with!! I have no doubt that you will smash through your debts and that cottage in the country dream will become reality. Keep pushing on, keep paying it off, and don't forget to dream about the finish line once in a while! Hugs! X

  • hey Hok3Y!

Thank you for dropping in! I am determined thats for sure! I'm hoping by the end of April we will finally be under the 10k debt balance! I can't wait! :j:j (fingers crossed)

PS - if anyone had asked me who I thought would get debt free with their motivation - I would have pointed to you Hoks!! :p

But OH isn't helping after coming home today and saying he won't be going back to work anymore :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: OMG!!!!!!

He has 1 week to find another job - I don't care what it is! I AM going to pay 1600 to pay off my default this month which means he needs to find a job to support the cost of the rent at the end of the month.

One day he'll grow up but right now I'm in agony with a bad back and he is jobless - thanks hun!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

phew - just another day in paradise, he is my one and only but grrrr when he does these things!!

PS - NSD today! And as many as possible to come, just a few F&F letters to post this week but otherwise I won't be buying anything!

Benefit of the doubt though - if he uses it to pull it around then good on him, he needs to work his magic once again :)

  • hey hoks!

I'm ok! I had to go to the hospital today so I've actually been glad the OH has been 'off work'! Ironic!!! We hope its not serious but we'll find out next week. :(

did ruin our NSD cause he bought me some reduced price roses and some chocolate from W8trose for being a brave girl :)

But he has already been working on updating his cv so we're all good there, and on Monday its on the jobs boards and taking anything he can get. We agree that we're not looking for his 'forever' job seeing as we want to leave the big smoke for the countryside soon so pretty much whatever pays him money is sufficient so we'll be looking at contracts by the day and monthly contracts etc - its a good way for him to up his skill-set in the short-term as well!

Tried to pay my credit card F&F yesterday but they asked for a cheque - is this the 1990s?!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

I'm going to try again tomorrow and ask to do an internet transfer-they won't let me pay over the phone cause of a difference in address.:mad:

    Hope you're well?

Hey C-R, I totally missed this until this morning - I am far too preoccupied with everything here at the moment. Very sorry not to be responding until now.

Hope you are okay. I read your message, noted the date, and had a small amount of panic. I hope the hospital turned out to be nothing serious and you're just busy helping your OH on the job boards. Or maybe he has a job now and you're just trying to catch your breath.

I will check back later today and see if I can catch you. Love, hugs and oodles of luck to you. Xxxx
