  • Evening C-R :j I wrote a long reply to you yesterday and it disappeared (grr) so gave up and thought I would come back again today on the laptop this time ;)

I hope the 75% offer is accepted, certainly sounds like it will be so that will be another debt down :T

Your motivation for paying off the debts and saving to move is the exact same motivation I have for saving ;) every time i look out at my poky, north facing garden I think about where I could be in a few years time and how much space the kids could be. It has certainly stopped me buying lots of rubbish over these past few months when one part of me is going "oh but you're debt free now you can buy what you like" ;) lol keep going you're doing great! :D

  • Hey DFW321!

Thanks for popping by! I hope it's accepted too! fingers crossed :D

    This week's catch-up:

    spending days this week: 3
(hair on wednesday, tobacco/pizza yesterday and shopping today)

Debts: F&Fs posted so one at least can be paid at the end of the month, if none get back by then with a valid offer I'll chuck all the money at credit cards.
Realised OH paid 30 quid towards a debt at the end of the month so that's been added to our total!

Food: been eating from cupboards so doing well! think tomorrow's shop should cover us until end of the month! Fingers crossed cause it's the last of our spends :D

We have a raw fish pie mix in the freezer - i am wondering could I cook the mix and then put the cooked pie back in the freezer? Any comments?

Tidied 2 of our 4 rooms so far today - kitchen and living room pit remain! Going to put in those headphones and have a boogie while washing up in a bit I reckon!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Who says weekends are used for going crazy? I'm never happier than just pottering around the flat getting little jobs done :)

Hope everyone is having a lovely lazy sunny Saturday?

PS - might have noticed - not much cleaning going on :D
did however sew up all the buttons/button holes for the duvet cover so it fits properly now - yay!! :j:j

  • OK! a nice weekend round-up - got a letter from DCA from one of the F&Fs sent off on Wednesday - quick response! but they have returned the debt to another DCA so I've bashed off a quick re-write of the F&F and I'll have to post that this week - will try and drag together some coins from the jar so it's not a spendy day! :D

Got a lamb stew bubbling in oven, and red cabbage on the hob - extras to go into freezer; going to do the fish pie tomorrow now I reckon! I promise :D:D

Did get all the cleaning done :j:j:j - only thing not done is OH's work shirts cause I can't be bothered to do the cuffs and pits with the vanish before putting in washing machine - he can do it or wear different ones :p

Did get about 5 loads done this weekend though - all the bed throws/blankets and bedding as well as my work clothes - phew!

Today was a spendy day - bought a large bag for little kitty's cat food - 15 quid off and an extra 5% off with voucher so cost per kilo was over half the other bags and should last maybe 5 months or longer? Aiming for no more spendy days this week.

Now - just relaxing - watching some 'dead files' on youtube (a favourite of mine!) and wondering if I should go and have a bath before supper which should be at 7. hmmmm - does seem a good idea! I spent the morning daydreaming online with a 'wish' shopping list for my dream 'one day' kitchen - with appliances it only came to about 16 grand!:eek::eek: haha! deffo gotta destroy this debt if I have such expensive taste :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

well - back off to daydream and scare myself! :D:D
Hope everyone has had a good weekend? Can't believe its Monday again tomorrow - tempted to take some time off for a rest soon!

  • OK - so must be time to update this week!!

Haven't had as many NSDs as I'd hoped - had a string of spending at the start of the week, but we've turned that around over the past few days and should rack up another 2 days today and tomorrow - we will definitely be eating from the freezers this week as the fridge is pretty much bare!!!!!!

We have a cake OH mixed up in the oven which will be our sugar fix and got some tomato sauce on the go to layer up with some bechemel to do some spinach and ricotta cannelloni - mmmm, and the fish pie will be tomorrow (haha yep - thats the fish pie i said I'd be making last weekend :D)

Still awaiting those F&F letter, but have done some debt work - reduced my HSBC cc from a 1700 limit to 500 so I don't have the spends even if I want them! I've had the card for 10 years so want to keep it for some positive on my credit report. Hoping to reduce it even further at some point so I can use it for a random shop every now and again I can pay off each month.

The last cc is almost under 2k which means not long til that one is cleared! whoop!!!

Thought we were going to finish this month for the first time with money in our pockets but check OH's bank this morning and they took out a 30 quid fine for defaulted payments so now hes 30 over his limit :eek: so we have only 18 in my current account til Wednesday when he gets paid -which should b ok - can only think of tobacco at some point we might need to tide us over :( - its a start!!!

got 2 loads of washing done and cleaned bedroom and bathroom, only kitchen and living room to do so feeling good about the tidying.

onwards and upwards!!! little kitty is sitting on the table scowling - he seems to be in a bit of a huff today! men, hey?!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

hope everyone has had a good Saturday?

  • hello diary! and any potential readers! :D

Time for an update! Almost reached our NSD target for this month! Might even top it as not aiming to do any spends tomorrow or Monday (although it might still be destroyed if OH smokes his tobacco too swiftly over the weekend )

Been playing with my spreadsheets this afternoon and for the first time EVER i successfully recorded ALL spends made in a single month by me and OH!! wowee!!!!:cool: - insightful and scary and downright horrific reading :eek: - last month was an expensive month though with OH getting himself some workshirts and 2 of us having haircuts! and getting the catfood.

Going to try and keep up the good work this coming month although I know for a fact we won't be going overboard as we only have (from my calculations) - 160 quid spends for everything for the whole of April. This is fine by me as we have loads of pasta in the cupboard :D:D :money: - not quite sure how OH will cope but he's gunna have to!!!!!!!

The reason why we have so little is hopefully one creditor account has agreed to my 75% offer which will mean a larger single payment than we might otherwise make meaning food spends have been reduced. But this is one of our defaulted accounts so it would be great to satisfy it!

My excessively rude DCA has got back with a counter-offer for my F&F - they actually gave me an amount lower than the current balance this time! But not low enough! so another letter needs to go to them! Hoping to string them out so can pay them off at the end of April!

Feeling quite frustrated about it all looking at my spreadsheet - just hope we can stick to the plan - and if we can then August to be debt free is a real absolute possibility! (touch wood)

that's probably enough waffling on for now!
    will write again soon
