no worries crazy_lady! we're all here to support each other!
Always look for those little chinks of light! For me - I'm a horrid superstitious witch so if I see magpies my whole day will go according to the number of magpies I see and I saw 2 this morning on the way to work and things all fell into place (after quite a bit of hassle during the day!).
I feel like bursting into song: 'always look on the bright side of life'!!!! :j
but it's true - especially for us, when days are tiring and draining and monotonous!!!! So sing along with me everyone . . . . . :rotfl::rotfl:

Man we have to stay on the bright side or we will sink!! It's not easy when you're in this situation but you definitely help keep me perky, C-R - thank you for that!
Of course, sometimes I think there's a fine line between perpetually perky and psychopathologically maniacal!!!!! Hi CR...any news on the debt busting front these days...did OH manage to contact the DCA?Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

hey wantabetterlife!!!
He did contact them but I wasn't there at that point so they didn't let him speak on my behalf
So we're going to call again on Saturday - he's getting greedy and wants to try and push them down an extra hundred or so!!! If he can do it I'm happy - it's the first time he's actively shown an interest in doing this!:D
This does however mean that the debt money is sitting in his account for a few more days - which worries me in case he gets trigger happy and spends it!!
Only 5 more days and then he gets paid so it'll be a chance to take all his money off him again! and because we haven't had responses from the other letters (yet - still early) I'm going to use the money for some high APR credit cards and his low-limit cards!!!!
Lets try and destroy as many creditors as possible this month!
Yeah!!!! :j:j
Sorry - If I'm not doing very well - I tend to hide away as I'm embarrassed to tell people!
But I'll make sure I'm back now! Can't hide!!!!
Hope you're ok?

Your doing great CR :j...that's great that your OH is showing a fighting spirit too. It will be a big relief when that one is gone...I am also the type of person that gets itchy feet if there is excess money in the bank accountsCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

OK - so am at home - OH has been here all day - he wasn't feeling very good today which I'm a little worried about, obviously i'm worried if he's ill but actually I'm more worried that he's not ill and skived. I've watched this happening many times before, and it tends to mean he's at the start of losing a grip on his job in a mental sense. He tends to get some sort of breakdown (minor) every 18 months or so and really, we're pretty much due one. Last time he had one, he lost his job, hence why he was unemployed so much last year and why I was working 2 jobs etc etc.
He's never been to a doctor about it and I have to admit I'm scared to suggest it to him - I have a feeling he'll be very offended by my suggestion, and if I were truthful I think it's to do with all the dabbling he did when he was a teenager
Just one more thing to add to the pile!!
So - I'm not pressurizing him today, I'm going to let him play GTA5 all night, make him supper (reheat last night's HM curry!!!) and not ask if he's going into work tomorrow although I pray to God he will. And I got him some crisps and chocolate so hopefully he will be placated!! Way to a man's heart is through his stomach!!!!
In terms of debt-busting we got our gas bill today! whoop!! :rotfl: seems to be one every week!! and it was about 60 quid for the quarter.
But I'm working harder - no heating on even today! boiler off if its not doing anything and do you know the other day I even turned the gas hob off while cooking and heated stuff just using the boiling water in the saucepan and a lid?!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I could be a superscrimper yet I think!!!! :cool:Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
Hi CR, that's bound to be a worry for you about your OH...hopefully it is a one off and he will be ok tomorrow. Is his job really stressful? Does he have much of a support network such as friends to chat to? There is a very fine line between what a person can cope with and what they cant and I suppose its trying to find the balance, sometimes we all put so much pressure on ourselves to have a nice house car, holiday etc that we forget about looking after our mental health. I remember earlier in your diary you mentioned that your OH likes buying things...do you think this could be a bit of a distraction technique? My mother in law does this I have noticed...when she has a low mood she goes out and spends money on really silly things....like irregular choice shoes she has never wore, six of the same tops in different colours etc. The buying seems to give her a fix, but it never seems to last, its as if she is trying to fill a hole if you get me. It can be very hard to make people see that they might need help, but all you can do is be as supportive as you can and don't forget about taking care of yourself.
Congrats on the low gas bill and keeping the heating off...hopefully the winter wont be too cold and we will all save a few poundsCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000
