I have taken off the rose-tinted specs and can honestly say - if you ain't got the money for it then you simply can't afford it!

If I went in for tattoos I might consider that as one going up the length of my inner arm on my card-holding hand to remind myself every time i went to hand over my card at a till!!!! :money:

thank you so much for de-lurking! It is lovely to hear from people reading my DFW-diary. Although I'm waiting for the day someone reports my babble and the men in white coats turn up! :rotfl:

Thank you for your kind words as well - I hope it will get better - we still have a long way to go but where there was only darkness enveloping us I now see a glimmer of white light in the distance - and I think maybe, just maybe, I see glimmers of understanding from the OH as well! The fact he agreed to cancel his credit cards (for people with poor credit) was a good step! But whereas I've taken a flying leap off the edge of the cliff he's still shuffling towards it - hmmmm, maybe I should go and give him a push?!!

HOK3Y - if i reach 12k at the end of the year I'll do it as a tattoo just for you!!! :rotfl: (temporary obvs!!)

well - a quick update - got my letter form Halifax confirming my PPI claim is now being investigated.

So . . . fingers crossed - will keep you all updated!
Still nothing from the DCA re. my first F&F - gargh!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

Ooooooooo PPI claim payout would be niiiiiiiice! I wish I could find my paperwork on a couple of older loans but I think the ex has it and don't think he will hand it over willingly......not that I think he would be able to find it in the pig sty he lives in!

Well - I'm back again! No news here on the F&F front still, but I've decided if nothing comes back before the 15th the 900 I've got stored up is going to go onto my highest APR credit card - which will give it only 400 left on its balance! yay! :j

Things finally seem to be looking up for me -
a friend said they have a friend who wants a website built and they would pay for me to do it! 400 quid! that would pay off one of OH's credit cards or even two now as they are no longer maxed out - but I've never built one for someone else before so I'm a bit nervous about accepting such a thing! :eek:

At work - there was some sort of subtle hint made in a meeting that my job might be made permanent or i might get a pay rise or both. But I don't want to jinx myself so I'm not going to wait for the email to come through in the coming days!!!!

And the OH is happy with his GTA5 still so that saves money! A box of wine for a few weeks and his evenings are sorted!!! :rotfl:

Me? I think I'm finally starting to see things come around - a few of my colleagues at work - friends - know how bad things are for me, knew me in my days of eating apples for days on end because we couldn't afford food and we got them free from the tree on the side of the road. So we had a lunchtime chat yesterday (I didn't buy lunch!!) and they think I've done really well and it will be amazing to be debt free in 1 year!

And so do I - at the moment with things plodding so slowly it kinda seems like that day will never come but then again - I know how quickly time flies when you're not watching so eek! :eek: this time next year I could be saving a deposit for a house! What a random thought!!!! :j:j

PS - talking about random thoughts - I don't know who else to tell cause all my friends are work friends but - has anyone ever had a dream about someone they work with?!!!!

Oh C-R, I had no idea how bad things have been for you and it makes me doubly happy to see you pulling out of the muck and the mire. And gosh darn it, take that website building gig! We hold ourselves back because we are afraid of our limitations - don't fall into that trap! Do it, learn from it, groooow! You can do it! I once took a side job tutoring a rather desperate degree student on business finance......which I knew nothing about! (To be fair I did tell him this upfront!) I taught myself as I taught him and he increased his grade from an F to a B for that class. Do not look at your limitations - look at your abilities and know that this is the Universe giving you an opportunity!

Oooooo dreaming about a coworker??? I've done that a few times but normally not in a naughty way.....although once or twice it was even though I would have rather gouged out my eyes with a teaspoon in real life....:D Does this mean you're going to tell us the context?!?!
