  • thanks HOK3Y!! :grouphug:
Your post caught me at a bad point and made me cry!!!! :o In a good way! :)

Yeah - i suppose I read him quite well (8 years together will do that for you!!!). it's just very draining trying to carry everything all the time. :(

Well I'll say b*llocks to the NSD tomorrow (sorry NSK!!) and think I'll treat him to a nice meal - we a good amount of money left this month (for the first time I can remember) - cause I've been too tight I think so I'll go the whole hog and pop into Wa!trose on the way home and get him a nice beer/wine and something posh we don't usually eat - it might not help us this evening but hopefully it will make tomorrow evening a bit more enjoyable.

And I'll spend the weekend doing a proper think over how we can eat more variety and better for not much more than we do at the moment. It's a good think I like planning stuff or this would be too exhausting a venture for me!

    xx

Oh Honey, I'm sorry. I really do feel that you are one step ahead of this. I think a lot of men allow their women to organize everything because they know their women are good at it, they don't want to have to worry about it, AND THEY CONVENIENTLY FORGET WE'RE NOT UNBREAKABLE. It is okay to want to put this load down once in a while, to take a break, to breathe a little. You are very aware of him, and I would bet he is aware of you too. I know when I struggle to talk without being emotional, I write an email to hubby instead and it always helps. Men are funny creatures and they don't realize we are not invincible. Maybe it's easier for them to buy into the idea that we are Wonder Woman and then they can lean on us into perpetuity. Not that it helps us!

  • True dat HOK3Y - he definitely doesn't have anything to worry about. And most of the time I enjoy it - but wow - maybe this dark weather really does impact psychologically!

I'm gunna step down the debt-busting this coming month i think - give us a little bit bigger groceries budget and making it so I'm not chaining us down to some self-imposed prison sentence! One month extra on the DFD ain't the end of the world when we ignored DCAs for 2 years. :)

Thanks HOK3Y! It's like my MSE version of a helpline! I do feel better - just wish I had a big bar of chocolate to much on - or a big glass of single malt whiskey! haha! Not recently!!!! Maybe that's what I'll do - I'll buy us a bottle of scotch (find one on offer!) tomorrow and we'll enjoy it! We don't usually buy because he can drink the whole bottle in a night but maybe that's what we need - to get tipsy and forgot about life for a while!!

big hugs to you HOK3Y - hope you're day was good/better than mine!!!

  • Get that whiskey and enjoy it cottage_retreatist, I am having a glass of much needed wine as I type!

You know what they say - life is not a rehersal. As much as I need to clear my debt and start to save: the odd treat keeps me going

    thanks HOK3Y!!

he was a bit angry with me last night so I flounced off post shower and ended up sleeping on the sofa cause I couldn't stand his huffing and puffing and muttering while I was putting my bed socks on!!!!

but he woke me up this morning and all seems well with the world!!! He has mood swings every now and again but I seem to be the one they affect not him so we're back as normal today! He's got some money to get lunch at work -so hopefully he'll get a nice sandwich and I treated myself to a fruit smoothie and I'm still going to get us a whiskey tonight so we can have a nice evening in!

blech! feel a bit emotionally drained though! Thankfully today shouldn't be too stressful and I stayed later yesterday so think I can slip away a bit earlier today!! :D

hope you have a good day too? Well - it is FRIDAY afterall!!! :j:j:j

  • Oh Cottage_Retreatist! I wish I had started reading your blog before. I have read the first page and immediatly had to write something down. You are doing SO well, your enthusiasm has me hooked and I love the wrangling with the OH that you dealing with as well. You are clearly hook line and sinker on the debt-busting machine and I LOVE IT!

I am subscribing but gonna read more of your thread today and over the weekend. Keep going though, keep pushing as you are. OH will fall into line ( tee hee ) soon when he realises just what you are doing for you BOTH..

You're so super cool I am sending you cyber hugs too... ;- )

Hiya C-R, well I hope your Friday has been better than your Thursday. X Men! Who needs 'em?! Okay, I kinda like mine and it sounds like you kinda like yours so I guess we just need to deal with their charming quirks.....:p:o:D:o:p

Mine just walked in the door to a hot bath and a glass of whiskey waiting for him on the side as I knew he was in for a rough day today......although the universe seems to have shared the !!!!!! around quite evenly to be fair! Was just glad to see the clock hit 5pm!

It's officially the weekend, C-R so a little time to chill and relax. Hope you have a lovely couple of days before more debt busting with the start of a new week! Xx
