Another day of no food shopping, and we are down to our last legs here! I have been coming up with all sorts of odd meals, to use up what we have..my favourite so far is what i have named 'Cheesy Chorizo Spaghetti' and it's been a huge hit!

    Cheesy Chorizo Spaghetti

    Chorizo (approx £2 from Aldi)
Brie-Tesco value £1.09 for 200g (or any cheese you like)
    Garlic oil
    Spaghetti (19p tesco value)

-Chop chorizo into coins and fry in the garlic oil.
-Meanwhile, cook spaghetti and then drain.
-Once the chorizo is cooked, add it to the cooked spaghetti (with only a small bit of the oil that comes out once the chorizo is cooked, but not a lot).
-Cut up some brie into small cubes (or grate whatever cheese you have, cheddar goes well too) and add to the spaghetti and chorizo.
-Stir for a few mins....and voila!

It was simple but divine! I imagine you could add some diced peppers and onions too.

I am also trying to come up with recipes that include courgettes as i have 2 of them to use up before they go manky.

£5.18 spent in Mr M today on the following:

4 aero choc mousses (treat for bf whilst on offer) 3 0.64
    lettuce £1

should be plenty in now until at least the end of the week - all lunches sorted, breakfast stuff is in and most evening meals will be salads. If we decide otherwise we also have the following options:

    *spag bol
    *cottage pie
    *chicken supreme and rice
    *chicken dinner
    *chicken, rice and veg sauce
    *southern fried turkey and chips

Bf will probably want at least one take away and I have a voucher for BOGOF on mains at a local restaurant too which would be a nice treat :)

Pay day is the 25th - next Thursday, and next week there is only me around Tuesday & Wednesday with bf back again for tea on Thursday (my birthday!)

Oh dear, I looked in a mirror in good light and realised my fading hair colour is a little too grey-rooty  so in addition to the list bits I bought two packs (2 for £10) of hair dye so that I will be back to my fictional best ;) as soon as I can be bothered to do it. That made this week's shopping £35.11 but hopefully that is it now - we go away for the weekend and then on holiday next week so may not need any more spends this month.

  • I spent another £7.50 today on shower gel on offer, and some 3 for 2 snacks for when friends visit at the weekend.

Also got a £6 off a £40 shop. I know they usually do this to make you spend extra to get the discount (I tend to do 2 smaller £30 shops a week) but it will be good to stock up on cleaning stuff as I am running low.

WanttobeMSE that spaghetti sounds good - I would never have thought of putting chorizo and Brie together.

NSD here although did go into Morri$ons to return some peaches which were brought on Saturday and rotten by yesterday evening.
I wasn't going to bother as they were only a £1 and I had no receipt but then I remembered Martin on this Morning and his SAD FART message, receipt or not that goods have to be -
    Satisfactory quality As Described
Fit for purpose And last a Reasonable amount of Time. :money: exchanged no problem.
