Evening all.... Today went well. NSD here. I'm feelng a bit better as the tablets are making me get a full nights sleep. Makes all the difference. I just gotta keep telling myself, only around 1 more year of living like this and i should be pretty much debt free and finally start saving! :D

Pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better,a good nights sleep makes allthe difference. A year will soon pass and it will be a fabulous feeling when you have finally become debt free.Good luck.

Yesterday spends - £4.50 - Weetabix and Coffee. 36 weetabix and jar of Nescafe. (coffee will last a few weeks as we don't drink loads of it)

Now I need to really concentrate, the head gasket blew on the car yesterday (Right outside the Dr's wen I took my LB for his first jabs) not impressed. It is the latest in a long line of probs, and was one of the reasons for doing this challenge, to save money to get a new car next year (by new, I mean about 7 years old and about £2000 in cost, but new to us) - we have spend around £300 on the car in last few months, not this is going to be £400+ and the car only worth £500 or less, so not sure what we doing now.
We need a car, we are in a tiny village with a tiny community led shop and no bus service, 8 miles from nearest town, with 2 little children and 4 miles from Docs surgery as well, so it is an essential for us.
Got to have a serious think today.

Hope you are all keeping well.
Re. The school dinners question, I would do sandwiches with fruit, pudding, salad or similar. Or beans on toast/cheesy beans on toast, jacket potato with beans or tuna, Or simple things that keep like pasta bake, which they can eat as little or as much as they want, then have the rest the next day as well.

    Hi Dylan.
I feel your pain in regards to the car. We live in a very rural small town, and couldnt not do without a car. I have spent so much on it over the last few months, and it's one of the reasons that i have to keep to such a tight budget too. It's only a 2001 Punto but it's my lifeline. That said, i have spent so much on it over the last few months, it's driving me mad.
Hang on in there, i hope it all works out OK for you.

Hang in there! It will feel amazing once it's paid off (the hard part is sticking to it, but I always keep remembering that I never want to get into debt again!)

NSD today - turkey ham sandwiches for lunch, and using an impulse jar of Ghanian peanut sauce with chicken, rice and broccoli.

Thanks Nick. I cannot wait, it'll make life so much easier. It's my own fault though, as this is the 2nd time i have been in debt :o NEVER AGAIN!!

No spends today i dont think. The youngest has decided not to go to their dads for the weekend, so it wont be as cheap as i'd hoped, but never mind, we can do some baking together instead as we will need cake and biscuits for next week anyway.

    £15 this morning.
Potatoes, cream cheese, pepper and a steak for dd1 and DP
A big bar of chocolate for me along with a croissant for dd2 and I

Going to legoland tomorrow, we have merlin annual passes (paid with tesco points) we plan to take a picnic lunch and take advantage of their offer which is kids eat free ( with every adult meal) after 3pm. So we can give the kids dinner around 6pm before the 2 hour drive home. So I will pop to tesco again in the morning for some fresh bread for sandwiches.

Dd1 is at a party on Sunday so that's her lunch taken care of (ill have to get myself something whilst there too) and then we are all going to a friends for a BBQ for dinner. I love a free dinner :D

Had a fabulous day thank you Tess, but am so tired now, just got back.
Going to have a coffee and soak my poor old feet, then I have to sort out receipts and find freezer space for the reduced meat I managed to find in Aldi and Morrisons, all half price or less.I have spent just over 50.00 on meat but this will last me months, and saved almost 70.00.Mainly prime beef joints some of which I will cut into steaks, but I also got lamb shanks, pork shanks, kidney at 20p and extra lean diced beef, makes a lovely beef curry.

I got loads of reduced stirfy for 45p instead of 1.30. and on the market I got enough fruit to last 2 weeks if I make salad and freeze it. Grapes, plums, nectarines, peaches,Kiwi I got from Aldi
and bananas I got from Aldi, still some strawberries in the garden and loads of raspberriesto come on,

Charity shop buys were a very good quality and expensive omelette pan for 75p, a pair of next trousers for 1.00 and a very nice toning top for 1.49.

So I think I am going to be the swankiest old age pensioner in town and eating like a queen for the next few months.and one of the healthiest. God Bless Meg.
