We are in for a really tough few weeks, financially. I have to repay £200 next week (then i am totally debt free!!) and i have booked the car in for a full service (£120) the week after as we will be going up to Kent to visit my Mum in August sometime (a cheap holiday!) and i need to make sure the car will make it
Sorry, i am blabbering on now!
So i am really on a drive to eat up as much from the house as i can, so that i dont spend any unnecessary money on food (or anything else!).
I am going to be researching things that the boys are I can do in Ashford for cheap (or preferably cheap) too, so if anyone knows of anything, please could you PM me? I dont know the area at all!
Hang in there! It will feel amazing once it's paid off (the hard part is sticking to it, but I always keep remembering that I never want to get into debt again!)
NSD today - turkey ham sandwiches for lunch, and using an impulse jar of Ghanian peanut sauce with chicken, rice and broccoli.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Grocery Challenge 12 -spent £1565.510 -
I spent an extra £18.34 today on a top up shop. I'm going away this weekend and wanted to have stuff in for a quick tea when I get back on Sunday (and hopefully not need a big shop next week)
Hope everyone in the thread is progressing well with this months challenge0 -
Seems like one or two are hitting a low just now so hugs to those that need them. :grouphug:
Spent more than hoped for myself today as it came to £36.73 and still need a few things tomorrow but have a voucher for Te$co so aim to use that and very little money.
Had some mushrooms that needed using so made some leek, potato and mushroom soup also roasted some peppers & tomatoes to make another soup out of tomorrow - did this today because had oven on doing some crispy coated chicken breasts and oven chips. TBH filling the oven up when it is on is not something I think about that much so was pleased that for once I had.
Am just watching the Great British Budget menu but have missed quite a lot so will watch it again from the beginning on line tomorrow.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
I haven't stuck to my food plan at all this week! I've been working quite long days, and just can't be bothered to cook! I'm going to have to get my thinking cap on for some cheap, easy cook, healthy, comfort food meals for next week.... That is going to be a challenge!0

£7.49 in Mr S - bought some clothes in the sale (diff. budget) but picked up a few bits while there, some veg, YS items, aftersun (ouch to the sunburn!) and trying out the basics toilet roll.
Hoping for a v.small shop at the weekend to even up the budget!
ETA: Oops, just remebered we needed 2 bananas this morning, so another 38p to add!0 -

How about pasta bake - just bung it all together in a dish and cook in oven for an hour - done! Or jacket spuds and fillings?0 -
I've been to Aldi today, spent about £55 for the week, will update my figures properly tomorrow. I took DD (7) with me - must remember not to do that again, it cost me an extra £5 on 'bits' she persuasively added to the trolley.
I did make some soup with the left over veg in the fridge, DH even said he would try it, which is unheard of.
On the plus side she did swipe all the carrot ends for the rabbits with a cheery 'Waste not, want not' which made me chuckle. I think she is learning!0 -
Evening all.... Today went well. NSD here. I'm feelng a bit better as the tablets are making me get a full nights sleep. Makes all the difference. I just gotta keep telling myself, only around 1 more year of living like this and i should be pretty much debt free and finally start saving!Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

Pasta bake is what I've been living on this week, and pasta with pesto to spice things up a little bit :rotfl:
I'm thinking stir fry as a good compromise, or spuds with salad.
Actually, I really need to use up some rosemary and thyme that's been taking up space for almost 18 months now - any ideas for what it goes in?0 -
Really lucky this weekend, unexpectedly having a very short break as guests of a travel company so I can write about it. Despite blowing my GC budget this month already, I'm still thinking to myself how good it is that this will help my meal plan go further. I hope it's not too wrong that despite a packed itinerary, the thing I'm most looking forward to is the hotel breakfast x
Minicooper I'm sure I've seen nice recipes for chicken with thyme and I don't think you can beat lamb with rosemary, slow cooked shoulder is good and economical I think, sorry I'm a bit rubbish with recipes.0
